Thinking about it - we'll see. It doesn't really make sense for me to, since there is nothing wrong with the motor that is in it right now - but then again, owning a boat in general does not make sense either. :D
Got some pricing yesterday on the motor - carb to pan. Here is a link to the catalog World Castings (http://www.worldcastings.com/docs/wcatalog04.pdf) Prices below are for the aluminum.
$8434 - 560hp, 590#
$9404 - 600hp, 640#
$9695 - 660hp, 695#
$14,545 - 780hp, 825#

It looks like a pretty nice package. OK guys what's wrong with this and what should be changed?
$8900.00 seems like a pretty good price for this to me.

Nothing against merlin complete motors. However, If you have ever stuck your micrometer to one of those motors you may decide to just buy the block and machine it yourself. Yes,I do buy world product blocks.

What do you do for a living - your first post and all. How about a little background. ;)

Thanks for the info - with that info, what have you heard about the 572 chevy crate when used in a marine application. There seems to be a lot of different opinions on that motor.
