I just installed a comp cams billet timing set. The crank sprocket has 9 positions. I installed it straight up.The cam sprocket has a "dot" and the crank sprocket has a "0". Does this look good?

Ok what do I torque the bolts that hold the sprocket to cam? Should i use blue loctite?

I like the red loctite. But that's just personal preference.
Instructions on cam degreeing is in the tech thread. If you haven't done it...that will help.

You should always degree a cam if anything just for warranty purposes. Cam MFG's will tell you this, remember it's made by man, it can be fked up. Once the cam has been run, you own it!..But if you find a descrepency while degreeing it they will replace it as long as it's not been run!...

I would like to add my .02. I recently installed a new cam and timing set and went thru the cam degreeing process. The picture showing the dots lined up is your starting or reference point. From that point you degree your cam and after checking the cam card you will be able to determine if you have to retard or advance the cam, which is done by using all those slots in the crank sprocket. But it is not as difficult as it sounds, it turned out to be one of the easier tasks in assembly of the engine.
