I have a 21 Eliminator Datonia with a 2.5 Merc 260 H.P. and a jack plate. What is the best style and size prop to run. I was thinking of going with a 28 pitch Cleaver.

What gear ratio, 1.87 or 2.0? Petty who is also on these boards has a 21 with 2.0 gears and uses a merc three blade 28 chopper for all around running, boat runs 98mph on gps at 8200. At the BBSP he ran my 30 merc three blade cleaver at 102 spinning 8000. By far this is the best running single engine 2.5 Daytona I have ever seen. By the way my 30 is for sale if you want it? $300

My motor is stock with the 1:87 gear ratio. I'm running a 26 chopper right now. I think a 28 cleaver would work much better.

When I had my 21 Daytona I was running a 25" shooter (4 blade)..... it was good for both bottom and some top end.....good all around-er
