I aquired another boat with a BBC and all the mounts that will work in the Tahiti. I'm wondering how much I should sell the 455 for. It is 4-5 hours fresh, Runs great, No problems whatsoever. I want to open my options with the Chev. Anyhow, here goes
1970 W-34 Toro GT block, .030, Line hone, decked
1970 W-34 N crank .010-.010 Balanced
1970 W-34 rods resized w/ARP bolts
L2323F .030 coated forged -15cc dished pistons
1970 W-34 E heads 2.08-1.625 all new guides
Crane double springs HD locks, retainers
Lunati 00083 224-234@.050 .496-.520 cam and lifters(hyd)
Cloyes Tru-roller
Mains restricted
Blu-print HV oil pump
Manley Race-flo SS valves
Torker w/ brand new 800 edelbrock carb, Also have a 750dp
Mallory Dual point
polished alum mounts and front water plate
Rotating assy. Balanced
I've spent a fair amount on this deal and I know I won't get it all back, I'm just trying to get an Idea.

I forgot, it also has a 12 qt. Trapdoor pan and rewarder injected OT's

In reality the olds is worth more than a BBC with the same work. It costs more to build an olds, but they aren't a real hot resale piece. You might consider buying a jet boat with a broken Olds in it, (alot around) and just installing your engine and then reselling a running package. I have a bullet proof 455 in my old hydro and quite often people suggest a BBC would run better, but that olds makes plenty of power,and lots of torque without running the Rs to the moon. Again they don't get the deserved respect..........MP

Thanks I'll keep that in mind, MP. Or I'll just do something else altogether. That damn Olds does run pretty good.
