Right over my house.....windows are rattling and it feels like being in Baghdad! We live a few mile from MCAS Miramar where they do the airshow every year.
They do their rolls and splits and crazy formations, carpet bombing and all that fun stuff to watch. They are badass. Glad we are on the same side!

In my day it was NAS Miramar. I was stationed there and lived in Poway.
Excellent air show.

One pilot died earlier today when he crashed--wasn't a Blue Angel but a stunt pilot I believe....bummer.
The show will continue on they said.

We just had the Blue Angels up here in August for an Airshow. But I'm not paying $20 for it!! Maybe I'm just spoiled and went to too many MCAS El Toro Airshows!! God, I miss those!!!

Krazy K i miss El Toro too!!! Those were fun times, we used to be able to park our RV right on the tarmac, Dad had big time connections, and we always had a blast, i did however lose a couple of friends due to accidents, the pilot of the AT-6 Texan that went down into the church was a friend, as was the pilot of the F-86 that pancaked in after a failed loop attempt.
Looking forward to Miramar, and it looks like they are on the next closure list .
