After 3 months of testing X dimensions and dialing them in, we now have six on the water and plenty more in process. A lot of you guys have been asking me to post some pics, so here are a few.

Great looking boats!!!!!!!!!! Looks like they sit high enough in the water.
Is it my imagination or are the engine hatches at different hights?

They are all different. We were testing different X dimensions which changes the cover. Also the yellow one is a jet, which makes it flat.
John,
Can you give some details on how the jet performed? What pump did you use and what power did you put in that boat?

voodoomedman
10-16-2004, 01:10 PM
That's what happens when you don't show up for a photo shoot ;) . Maybe next year.
Ouch!!!
I knew I'd get crap for that. I wanted to go so bad, especially with all you guys have done for me, but with the short notice I didn't have time to go get it from the river. Maybe next year the photo shoot will be in Havasu. ;)

Still dialing that one in. Only got 55 MPH with a 502/502. We put the American turbine big pump in it. I'm not worried about it, we just need to work on loading the pump a little better. We only had it in the water the one time for the photo shoot and haven't had a chance to really mess with it yet. I'm thinking about pulling the 502 and putting in my 1100HP engine to see what it does.

The deck boats are really something fine. What I really like is the rear, sort of half moon, looks so sweet, and from the front, the back seat with the head rests sit up just a little higher, kind of makes a statement. The boat just "looks" fast and comfortable even sitting on the trailer.
In talking with one of the owners there, he said the ride was more then what he had thought it would be. Takes chop like butter and even cut through the rollers on the river going up to the sandbar at the river.
John has a definite winner with this boat.

I love those boats. If we were to get a new one (which we're not) we'd get one of these. I think we saw the 21 the show in January, but it might have been a 23. It is a sharp boat.

The yellow/purple one is a jet, and it even has the steeing wheel on the correct side. It doesn't look like it is running any sort of a droop snoot thoug. Nice boat, if there was anthing that would make me think about upgrading from the 21' Daytona, that would be it. I would love to see how it performs with more HP.

points" redeemable for a new ULTRA.(It was a joke people; don't get all excited!) :wink:Well, anyways; how about if I bury ya in these damn silly "Rep Points" that everyone is so infatuated with? Will that get me headed in the right direction in 2004 for one of those babies? Those are very nice; very nice indeed! Really like the jet.

I've seen it in person down at Ultra San Diego.. Definately a sweet boat. :) Perfect blend of low freeboard river boat, but functionallity for the river. Kinda reminds me of a newer designed river hot rod..

I asked one of the owners at the shoot (the blue and grey 23' deck) what he was paying for insurance on his. He told me $600 with Allstate. He is running the 496HO.

I just read the article on DNE in the newest Hot Boat issue. It shows a 1300 HP engine being built for a 23 ultra deck. Is that going to have a pump or outdrive?
the word on the street is it will have a #6 drive.

I'm meeting with that customer after SEMA to decide what drive to use. Originally it was going to be an IMCO 4x4 set up, but we're lookingat other options right now.

Since this is a thread about Ultra Boats.........I figured I'd chime in about Ultra Boats in general. I have yet to make my purchase, but I visited Ultra a few weeks ago and met John. I picked his brain for a little while and learned quiet a bit. I've even left him an email or two and he has always called me within a reasonable amount of time after receiving an email. Most would take the easy route and email someone back to save themselves some time, but John has called me back to answer questions. The knowledge that they share in boating in general, not just with Ultra boats is valuable, and says alot about the product and customer service that they give. Just my .02

I know how you feel, I just bought my Ultra. John made it pretty easy for me on what I needed and wanted. I looked at all of them here locally, finally narrowing it down to 2. Ultra just made me feel best about spending the amount of money I had! He will amaze you when he draws what you have in mind for your color schemes.
