I posted this in another thread earlier so if you've already read it then I'm a dumbass , but if not might give you something to think about.
Did you know that sex feels a lot better for the woman than it does for the man. Don't believe me. Put you fingertip in your ear and rub it around. What feels better your finger or your ear.........

I would have to guess low to mid 60's. It's usually a little cooler for me, I'm about 5 miles from the beach.

Exactly...this midwest weather is kind f'd up though. Two weeks ago it was in the 80's, in the 40's now, and probably be in the 70 or 80' one more time, for at least a day or 2 I hope. Gotta hit the water one last time before I winterize my boat.

Trust me I wish I could boat all year long. The only good thing about the 5 months of non boating weather is that first run down the lake in the spring. Man you talk about making a man feel alive! The air is still a little cool, water is like glass, and there is nobody at all on the water. Damn I hate this freakin' cold weather.

To tell you the truth, I probably don't take my boat out between November and at least the end of March. Depending on the early Spring temps.

So Norcal & Hooter maybe you guys can give me a suggestion. The wife and I are wanting to come out west this spring and get on the water somewhere. I don't really want to pull my boat that far so we were thinking about hoping a flight & finding someplace to rent a boat for a week or so. What your suggestions on location & month? Oh yeah no freakin pontoon, or bayliners.

Good luck on renting anything decent. That's what they usually rent. Nothing too sporty for rentals typically. As for location, depends on what you're into. Relaxing, skiing, partying. Temp wise, anything from Mojave to Parker starts to get warm around Easterish time, but the water is still cold.

That's what I was afraid you would say. Little relaxing, a little partying seeing some new sites, and meeting new people. That's what we would like to do. But shit man I don't want to do the 40hp pontoon, or bayliner with the big RENTAL sign on the side. I may have to rethink this and make the tow.

Let me go back to my 5th grade geography here, but I'm in Missouri so I guess that would be about a 3-4 state pull.

Hey switch, when it comes that time to make your plans, there are plenty of peeps that can give you some insight on where the hot spots are to stay. Just keep asking away. Personally, I would think Laughlin might not be a bad choice. You could throw a rock and hit the airport. You might be able to fly in through like Phoenix or something. Mojave is just few minutes away. Havasu is within an hour. Plus you got nightlife with the casinos and stuff.

That's rough. Personally, If I were at the river at the same time and had room on the boat, I'd say hop on. I'm sure there are plenty of peeps on here who are cool like that.

That doesn't sound to bad. Thanks for the info. I've been wanting to make this trip for 4 or 5 years now, but you know how it is something always comes up, but I told the wife next spring i'm going with or with out her.

Laughlin is our stompimg grounds. I like it cause if we want to go to Havasu, we can just drive half way down, launch and take the water the rest of the way down.

What's fair is fair. If somebody's hauling my ass around all day & providing my entertainment the way I see it the gas & drinks are the least I can do. That is a daily thing too. Not just a one shot deal! Somebody hauls me around all weekend, their going back to work Monday with the $$ still in their pocket.
