I looked at a Caliber 1 250 Xcelerator and I thought they looked nice. I'd like to know what others think of them.

Friend of mine just got a 23 Velocity. Very nice boat, seemed to be rigged well and they have treated him good. From what I understand, Cliff builds a fine boat.

Are you buying new from the Company, or used?

I have a 230 Velocity. Very well put together. A little heavy, but real solid. Calibers are a little cheaper because Cliff doesn't spend $8000.00 a month advertising in Hot Boat. I would buy another and will look at the 25 when I'm ready to upsize.

I have a 04 23 foot Silencer. I had an ok experience with Caliber, but I am more than happy with the boat I took delivery of in March of this year! Willie does an excellent job with rigging, and the fades and lines in the gel coal are perfect. Cliff does overbuild the boats, as my 23 is about 4000lbs sitting in the water. That extra weight does wonders however when going thru 3 foot chop in the basin however!!!

I think he builds a nice boat, seen lots of them out there. SoCalHD's included (nice rig he's got)
I think I remember somebody on here early spring saying they were WAY behind on his delivery date, but got some extra goodies and turned out happy.

I heard that if you have a Calibur 1 you can take steriods and carry a gun and beat up chicks at the sandbar.........

Dan, That was me. I got caught up in the changeover in ownership. Cliff more than made it up to me with upgrades to both the trailer and several on the boat. I can honestly say that I would buy another Caliber, just bigger!!!!

This is something I would have to see for myself,
That boat is a 21' with a 2 foot swim step built into it.....
We were out there last weekend and everyone was getting beat to hell and we were all in way bigger boats......

Send "WhippedCaliber" a PM on these boards. He has built two and could probably tell you what ever you need to know about the boats and company. He almost built a 25 but did the 28.

They seem like they build a nice boat but I went in there twice while I was shopping last year and the black guy that works there is one unfriendly mofo. The first time I could not even get anyone to help me. The second time he acted like I was inconveniencing him to answer questions about there boats. I thought oh well and I took my business elsewhere. Then just for the hell of it I went over to there booth at the boat show in Pomona this year. I was checking out there boats and he walked right by me and didn't even acknowledge me until I said "hi how ya doin" and all I got out of him was "hi" and just kept walking. Guess he is just not interested in selling boats.

I have a 206 skr and Id say that cliff builds some of the best boats, the riggin is great with the 454 mag and bravo 1. no money spared all wood is gel coated over and boat rides solid. I have personal friends that grew up with cliff and raced top fuel when cliff was with eliminator. Hes a great builder. All the bottoms of all the 21' hulls are the same from 94-04 but just has a different deck. There are alot of boat manufactures using the bottoms because they ride and track so straight just remember the new 23' is a 21' bottom with a new 23' top with a 2' swim step..... Spring for the big HP!!!

Wrong boat. The 230 Velocity is the smaller boat (based on the 21' with a molded in swim step). The 230 Silencer is much bigger. In the slips next to the 25 shockwave, they had almost nothing on it (inches difference).
I can tell you that SocalHD's boat is beautiful in and out, and rides incredibly well over the chop, as I was in it last weekend.
Everything about this boat is top notch.
And Mirvin, I thought we all agreed to drop that because it was off duty cops!

In the foreground is a beautiful 230 Velocity (River for Us).
Behind it is SocalHD's 23 Silencer. Love the graphics and interior.
Both are very nice, we can alway's spot River for Us from a mile away!
If I find a better pic of SocalHD's, I'll post it.

My neighbor has a 2003 23' Velocity. It's a great boat and moves well, about 70 w/496 Mag. He wasn't happy with the buying/building process, but ended up with a great boat and he too is also considering a bigger one.

When it comes to buying a boat-DO YOUR HOMEWORK !- a run through the BBB, Equifax, NCIC, and the County of Riverside Court filings wouldn't be out of the realm places to look. Never can tell what you might find.
Rio
That wasnt a dime,
That was a big ass silver dollar you just dropped.
I was waiting for this.....Surprised it took so long

cops!
Actually, the running surface on the Velocity is 21'.6" with an 18 " swim step. The 230 Silencer mold is also used by Renegade for their 23.
