no spinning 65-6800rpm does it every time. you can expect the engine to build some ccase press.

I'm probably wrong on this. Shouldn't the tank be lower then the outlet of the valve cover, so the oil will run into it, or is it just another breather?

Yes I read the instructions on the Rex Marine sheet, that it should be higher then the valve covers. It will take a lot of preassure to push the oil up thoes #16 hoses

good thread... I need something* like the rexone breather, but (don't laugh)
I'm going to use it for a go-kart wagon fuel tank..... mounted up front kinda
like a mooneye's configuration................ The breather up top would be
okay if it sealed, but dealing with 2 screws wouldn't be fun....
so, I need a similar sized tank, with bullkheads on the bottom, and a fuel
cap on the top............
anybody-?

thanks,,,,

The idea is a remote breather away from the engine so it doesn't puke oil all over the engine via breathers on the valve covers. If mounted low it would simply fill up with oil and puke oil out in the boat, (not the idea). Most the liquid oil will never make it to the tank if mounted higher (which is the idea).

I looked at puke tanks as well, but fixed my Whippled 502 with Teague valve covers and tall breathers. One on each side was enough for my application at 9 lbs. boost. Nicer looking valve covers to boot.
