Dammit!
I'm taking my engine out for the first time.
After taking the rear seat out and the hatch, I figured it would be a piece of cake.
I disconnected all the wires, fuel line, steering cable and other stuff. Removed the 2 motor mount nuts, then took off the bottom portion of the rear bellhousing.
All that is left is four little allen bolts holding the driveshaft to the crank. MY GOD! There's got to be an easier way. I've been working on them for about 3 hours at a 1/8 of a turn increments through a tiny hand hole opening. There all loose, but I still don't have even one out yet. They keep getting longer and longer. :220v:
What do you guys recommend I put back in to make removal easier next time?
And, is it as hard putting them back in??

mine is the same way.. very time consuming hassle. I've found it to be much easier to hook on to the motor and lift it just a hair then move the motor forward till the driveline comes out of the pump then once the motor is out you can get enough angle on the u joints to easily get them off.

You mean If I lift the engine to clear the motor mount bolts, the drive line will slide out of the pump???

well i'm not sure how yours is mounted.. mine is on a rail kit so all i have to do is pull the 4 bolts holding the motor down and take preasure off the rails and slide the motor forward. You'll have to go forward to free the driveline from the pump.

Yes. The driveshaft slides onto splines on the pump shaft.

Its a stock 502 mounted to a Dominator jetpump.
I'll wait and see if anyone else has input before I proceed.
