Well the BG bypass was JUNK !!!!!!
Ran the 522 on the dyno with great success. :D Had to use the dyno's fuel system to get the jetting correct. BSFC check
The plan was:
Make a quick pull with the dyno fuel system to check jetting.
If in needed changed change it, if not go for it.
Go for it.
After dyno pulls change over to my system, set fuel pressure idle speed and idle mixture. Make a quick pull to make sure it flows enough.
Well we changed over after pulls and I could not get any fuel pressure. I had rebuilt the Clay Smith pump so I automatically figure I screwed something up. Yea Right  LOL
The local Okies at the dyno facility look at the bypass system and say " no way that thing will work bypassed to the pump inlet like that" ROFLMAO
After checking fuel pump pushrod travel taking the pump apart 2 times I decide to look at the bypass valve.
You can blow through it like it is not even there !! The ball used to seal off the valve is machined in steps. What a piece of S H I T
So after a couple of hours screwing with it we (Info Jr. and I) run out of time and I have to take it back to the Marine Assault Engine Factory without setting the system up ready to ship.
Now I have to get a new bypass valve, set the engine up to run again here, set the fuel pressure etc before I can ship it.
You can bet they will here from me Monday morning.

Hilborn has a carb bypass valve, had one on my boat and it worked fantastic.

I'm surprised to hear that you had a problem with the BG bypass reg. I had really bad luck with the BG 2-port I was running last year. And the BG flow through filter almost always leaks, but the bypass has been good(knocking on wood!!!)so far.
Show us what you come up with.

Yeah, I've been running the BG By-pass as well. Only have about 30 hours on it, but no problem yet.

I don't think the BG fuel press regs are worth a shit either.....

Yea but the BG thing is so pretty.
And so convenient to just turn the little screw and set the jamb nut.
The K.I.S.S. method once again proves to be the best method. Thanks for the smack in the head to remind me.

Info, let us know what BG has to say about the bypass regulator. Thats what I use now and I don't seem to have a problem, but I have not tried to get the pressure over 7 psi.

I'm just sending it back to where I bought it. Putting an Enderle bypass on it instead.
This is the first one I have had problems with. It was a poorly machined ball valve. It cost me having to run the engine again. Major pain in the butt.

What size AN's are on the ends of that bypass?
Do you order them for your desired pressure, or do they provide different springs with it?
Just wondering...

I had them send #8 set up for 7# with shims to go from there.
I will set it for 7 1/2 ish.

An6 is the norm. But available an8 and you can also use a port nozzle check valve depending on your plumbing. Springs, shims, etc can all be found here.
