Always like these hull's. Especially when you think how long ago Jack designed it. Everybody else was copying the 1 or 2 step deal and Jack went out on his own as usual. I did one for a guy and I removed the bow rail, capped it and did a nice Sanger style paint job on it. Boat looked real cool on the water. Didn't hurt it that it had a "Boss 429" blown deal between the stringer's. Good luck.

I'll be around all summer hanging on the lake. You gotta come up for boardstock, it's off the hook up here that week end....... :crossx:

Kid, we did'nt make it last year, but I heard that it was definatly of the hook. we usualy hang at baywood. some freinds have trailers there and it's a great shady spot to beat the Lake county heat. we will be there this year with the Sanger for sure, even if it brakes me ( not that it has'nt yet!) Kindsvater, those pic's were great. Thanks for the reminder of what they look like when there done.

Hey Frank, congrats on the new boat! Thats great, i love the old sangers. You might remember from our conversation that we have had quite a few sangers. I beleive I told you that I went and picked up the black and red cruiser shown above for my father the weekend after fathers day.. That boat has a ton of Clear Lake race history. I got to enjoy it one weekend at Clear Lake before it went back to my dads..Youll have a lot fun with that new boat. Steve.

I grew up watching my dad druel over that boat. It was really neat seeing him buy the boat almost 20 years later.. All original paint and gel coat, and interior. The boat looks as good as it did then.. Yes in its earlier years, the boat chine walked, and squirmed in the corners, which apparently scared a competitors until they got it dialed.. They made a lot of adjustments on the bottom, and ended up with a delta pad on the bottom which now works great.. I got to take the boat out at Clear Lake last 4th of July and was able to make several 90+ passes, and the boat handled perfect, unfortunately then I had to deliver it to my dad..Steve

Bobby, could you PM me about the Delta pad on your dad's boat? there was a sanger by Bud Simi's place @ Clear lake that had alot of work to the bottem of it to make it work as well. Rumor was Jack Davidson was involved. coincidence? or same boat. Thanks, Dan.

nwsdan as you probably remember, a few years back there was a couple nice and fast sangers routinley at Clear Lake. The black one which was owned by Antonini, and a blue snd white one owned by Avila. i know that Avila got sick, don't know where the boat went, but I bought the new motor for it from his grandson.. They both hung out ini Lakeport. I don't remember if the blue and white one had the same bottom treatment. I wouldn't be surprised if Jack was involved, but can't confirm.. What do want to know exactly on the Delta pad? I can have my father take measurements, or pics!!He is on thre boards as Jockorace..

Bobby, I'm guessing that the Delta pad is filling the gap of the two cav plates per the rear view pic of your Dads' boat. Is adjustment made at the turnbuckles mounted to the hull after a few trial runs? I would like to talk to your Dad as far as mounting and such and mabey a few pics won't hurt. I think the Avila's boat is still in the family. His stepson works local and I see him from time to time. I was lucky enough two years ago to take a ride in obsesive compulsives' Sanger and that thing rocked, a very clean setup and rode nice. I don't recall that boat having a Delta pad but I can see were having big power in that hull and having added stability would be money well spent. Not being able to safely use my motor to it's full potential would be a real letdown.

nwsdan I rode in pierres boat up at cfw as well , as a matter of fact, my father and friend were with me. The friend grew up in a sanger cruiser as well, and Pierre mande us all want one again. His boat is/was a bitchen fast ride. I am surprised my father hasn't chimmed in yet, i'll call him tomorrow. Post a couple of pics of your boat, curious if I've seen it before. I go mostly to Clear Lake and Camp Far West now. Used to go to Berryessa a lot.
