I have a boat that serves me well, but I still feel that it is not the right boat for me. It is a great if you have a family, but I don't have one. I am looking to get a DCB.
PRO DCB
Cool boat.
It's a Cat
Faster 85+ vs 60+
Seats less people
And something about free cool aid
Cons DCB
More money
Seats less people.
I know I listed seats less people twice but sometimes having more people on your boat sucks. Especially when they ride in the open bow and you have to slow down, I say you ride in the open bow at you own risk but they never listen.

depends on what you want to pay for a boat, and if you think it's worth it...If its for image reasons..... :p then go for it...lol

I think you should :)

I havent slowed down any when people ride in our open bow :crossx: However I have found it is a nice ride up there :) you sit alot deeper and have more length than the cuddy version.

Are you thinking a 26' with foot throttle?? I know you're a talented man, just curious if it would be tough with hand controls.

I like the Mach 22, for Parker I think it would be perfect. I would have both a hand and a foot throttle.
When I was at the OC Boat show I heard that Eliminator is doing a new 22 Daytona with canopies that will be a scaled down 27.

I can see where this thread will end up...
DCB builds a beautiful boat, plain and simple. Pricey, yes. But you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a tunnel, look no further than DCB or Eliminator.
The Mach 22 is an amazing boat and probably perfect for Parker.

I run my 22 Stoker on Parker all the time and have no problems.

Had my 22 out there a few years ago. Seemed kinda small to me. There was alot of big boats on the weekends. Maybe I'm spoiled. Sometimes the challenge makes all the fun :D I guess if I expected a smooth ride all the time I should stay on the couch :)

It's cool. I just convince myself that the water is fine...I'd sure like to have an F-26/29 but at 23 y/o I could be complaining about worse things :rollside:

I don't have a DCB but they sure are nice boats. What is the insurance like on a 22' tunnel boat that does over 85mph? Are you planning on having a family in the future or is that to far ahead to think of? We boght a 21' vee bottom in 2001 and we had only a daughter at the time. Perfect boat for us. Plenty of room, ran great. Now I have a 10yo, 2.5yo, 1yr old. We just stepped up to a 28' deck boat because we out grew our nice small boat really quick. The moral of the story is plan ahead because it's alot of money to waste on somthing you can potentially out grow quick. My .02

Look into the ins. before you purchase a DCB 22. I think they are very hard to ins. Just my 2cents. :)

The key to insurance on a cat even a 22 is sticking with a 496HO. The magic HP numer is 425. I have talk to an insurance guy who know boats and it's under $900. One of the reasons for going with a 22 is that with a 496HO in that boat will be faster than a 26 with a 496HO. I would love a 26 but I would have to motor up to get to 85mph.
26 foot + 496HO = Fast
22 foot + 496HO = Faster

A 26 cat with a HP525 will get you 85.

B.S. - What summer weekend has your boat been on the lake???
It won't hang! The again I think a DCB WILL :yuk:

Hell I'd buy a DCB if I could afford one. I don't think I could ever justify the insurance on a cat though. I think a FX 28 or a 28 Extreme would suit me just fine.

Personally for Parker, I would rather step up for the 26 Mach over the 22Mach. We have a place in Big River, and im looking at picking up a 22 mach or 22 placecraft.
The 22 is a low freeboard boat, the 26mach will be a better family sled for Parker. There are some good deals on 25 daytonas, 26 Forces in the trader and on and on.
