I thought I would share a cool find with the C&T Brothahood
When I sold my mac, and was without I-movie, I found myself unable to make movies.... I have been looking for a cool, simple program to edit movies on a PC and I think i found it this morning... it's called ULEAD Video studio8. It's only $100 and pretty simple to use ... here is a lil somethin I whipped together today ...

"Unavailable" :(
Looking at getting a good digital video camera to be able to make some short clips. Only requirements I really have for a digital video camera are 3 CCD and image stabilization. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey my buddy got back to me on the camera. He is recommending a sony dcrhc40 its a little camera but has nice resolution and good quality. It also has a port to accept other cameras so if you wanted to hook it to a helmet camera or a camera on the bow of your boat. It will control it.
My next question is if I want to get a camera should I consider a mini dvd camera?? I like the idea of poping out the dvd and throwing it in the lapper. Also someone said htat it makes a new file as you stop and start filming so you dont have to go thru miles of tape to get to one part. Sounds cool but need more info???
Anyone know anything about this??
Like these?? (http://www.epinions.com/elec-Video-Camcorders-All-DVD_RAM/sort_~rating/pp_~1/sort_dir_~des)

Billy Boy...
TO answer, and note....
Charley's TRV950 is similar to what I used to use.
Now that I am in the need of SMALL... smaller the better for me for portability. I use the Sony DCR-HC30. It allows A/V input. And more importantly has the LANCE function.
These days...
You can also go for a "tapeless" camera and just use a memory stick. That would be the ultimate for you if you just want to pop it into your lappy. It's more costly for the mem cards... but surely the easiest to use.
I don't think the DvD format would be best 'for you'. You'd have to carry around DvDs like I do tapes.... kind of a pain. Step up and buy the Panasonic that's small and purely uses MEM cards. Pretty interesting. It's cost is twice as much as mine... but would work best for your needs.
If you want 'remote' cameras... like to place out on the front of the cat, or on the stern somewhere for a killer effect, then you just need to make sure you can A/V INPUT! Input is the key here. Output is a given with any camera. And then you'd have to buy the remote camera... and work it that way.
Why don't you just use me... as your "Go To" guy. I'll do all your video capturing, editing... etc. You can rent the Chopper... (Helicopter) and I'll take even more footage! It'd be a killer line of work to get into. However, you know what I require in salary for the year... just put me on the payroll. :supp: LOL!
I'd love to change jobs, you know that. I can't stand Telecommunications anylonger... Anyone need my resume?! :frown:
We can talk more over dinner... Japangoes??!?!?! :D
