According to the last posts in the forums, it will NOT be at the AVI. Nothing set yet.

I agree.
The parking at the AVI sucks but diagnoal parking would help that alot.
other then that it was a great location.

If it were only a matter of "getting off our asses" as you so eloquently put it, there would have been dates announced long ago.

The only things I can add to what Chris has said is check out Roostwear and the Parker 300. Mike (www.roostwear.com) has chosen to continue with his public get togethers. There is also a un-name gathering that will be quite the experience also. The Parker 300 is geared towards hot lake boats and the family cruisers. If you are interested in getting the latest info on the Parker 300 check out www.boatracingfacts.com. Ron Hill has a pritty damn good site going.
I want to thank Chris and Tyson for the years of great get togethers and all there effort over the years.
Thank you

As far as I know, the Avi does not want it there, so there has been a change in plans. I am sure Chris and Tyson are working on trying to find a better place, but it is hard.

Read the CBBB board update. there will be no CBBB this year! We for "1" will miss the greatest boating event on the river. But Chris, yes we did make a lot of friends at past CBBB's. Hope to see you on the river. Pat&Julie

I DIDNT MEAN THE "GET OFF YOUR @SS" IN A NEGATIVE WAY CHRIS. SORRY IF IT CAME OUT THAT WAY. JUST BEING A SMART @SS AS ALWAYS. IM SORRY TO HEAR THAT IT WONT BE GOING ON ANYMORE. ME AND MY UNCLE HAD A BLAST. IT SUCKS THAT PEOPLE WITH NO INTELLIGENTS RUIN THINGS FOR OTHERS TO ENJOY. WE WILL DEFENTLT HAVE TO MEET UP OUT AT THE RIVER THIS YEAR.
THANKS FOR LAST YEAR CHRIS AND TYSON

We (four boats) attended the event last year. We enjoyed the other boats, but frankly the water sucked and that lagoon was the pits. We spent the weekend at needles and had a great time. No reflection on the time and effort to undertake the planning, just thought the venue could use a little help.
So same weekend at needles?? No organization but there are pleanty of beaches to pull up to and shoot the bull.
Same weekend at bluewater in Parker? At least the far end is no wake so you can pull on the beach??

im sad that cbbb is no more but i do understand where the guys are coming from. Nearly every person i boat with today i met by attending the very first cbbb. And at the third cbbb i even met my wife. :)
so cbbb or at least going to laughlin during that time of year, is pretty special for the wife and I. That said, we are still going to go even if there isn't an official event. So if anyone else is going to be in laughlin in august maybe ill see ya on the water or at the black jack table.
We probably wont be at the bluewater since the police that patrol the parker strip are pretty strict when it comes to noise, which my boat has no hope of ever getting in compliance with. We'll probably hit the avi and head down river toward needles.

Seems like over the last couple of years the organized or simi-organized events have gone wayside due to legal trend which is completely understandable if your head is on it. Sad to say but has to happen unless somebody has deep pockets. Nuff said about that. The only way that a large group of hot rod boaters could get together anymore would be for someone to just claim a date and a location and anyone who wants to show will show. Cool with me.. How about you???

Damn... And I thought I'd have my first jet boat finished in time for this year's CBBB. Oh well.
I'm with RCB19, someone call a date and a place.

Mr. Crusader 83

The tough part with it all isn't so much the attendees having something happen within the group, it is all the other people on the water.
As with the CBBB and others, this year will be the last Tower Park outing the way people are used to seeing it done.

Has anyone thought about having a professionally organized event... like a mfg. regatta? Or does this kill the spontaneity of it all?
I'd have no problem paying a fee to have it all taken care of by Joker's Wild Promotions, or the like. They get the sponsors, raffles, place, legal bull etc... I think we have enough of a following with CBBB to get them interested.
Maybe next season, who's up for this? I'd be happy to get the ball rolling if there's enough interest.

i have nothing against them but i do not want the cbbb being sold( given) to jokerswild. it gose against what we want. so the cbbb will remain dead till we work out the issues .

Damn it! And I was going to go this year (hoping to find my old buddy the security gaurd) now that my boat is old and all.......
It is to bad you guys have to stop throwing a huge "old boat gathering" or a gathering of people with like interest only in the interest of some ass hole not laying a law suit on you. The world of today sucks! Well guess you guys could all just run into each other on the same weekend on the same body of water for the same cause with no name..................

To elaborate on Tyson's post with regard to this topic. The CBBB was started as a get-together for folks with older boats, kinda like a classic boat MFG regatta. What many people liked/like about the CBBB is that there wasn'nt a large financial commitment to attend, no one was making $$ off the gathering, and it was a low key atomosphere without a bunch of hype or "have to do" type things.
Since you mentioned Jokers Wild specifically, I'm going to respond to that suggestion directly. Call Jokers Wild and tell them that you want them to set up a get together for you and 125 of your closest groups of friends with varying makes of boats. Tell them you want the rooms to cost no more than $90/night, the guests shouldn't have to pay more than $40 to attend, and you and all of your sponsors would require an indemnification or hold harmless agreement freeing you of any financial obligation should a lawsuit arise. Then tell them they can only set this deal up at the Bluewater or the Avi, and see if they'll bite. They are a company in business to turn a profit, and they seem to be good at what they do with regard to the regattas etc. But the model of a casual get-together doesn't fit into the reality of their business constraints.
Ty and I are flattered that there are so many people looking to find ways to perpetuate a fun weekend get-together. The phone calls and emails I've received have reminded me that we all have new friends with which we can go the river and have a good time with. And we don't need the CBBB, OP6, TP, or FC to do that.
If someone wants to try and duplicate the CBBB in some incarnation, thats fine. Call up Jokers Wild and see what you can do. Jason (Rivertoys) and myself just started it on a whim, so anyone else has the right to do the same. But I will have to insist that the CBBB name and any references pertaining to the Classic Boat Beach Bash be conspicuously absent from any new attempt at this gig.
Thanks, now lets quit ballin about yester-year and get our boats ready for summer :)

As unfunny as that gag was at the time, I can admit that it was one of the best burns I've ever been party to. :D Good to see you and Christina are doing well. I couldn't help but notice you found a pink boat to park in front of the pink house ;)
I'll have to stop by sometime and see what you've been up to when I'm out and about without the kiddo.

Are you talking to yourself again?
Just make sure you have your rainbow flag flying from the transom of your pink boat, as you and Maxi make laps in the greatest parade of them all "comp jet shootout".
