What is a shoe. I just figured out what a rideplate is, but can't figure out what a shoe is on a jet boat.

If I remember right all the parts and machine work where a pachage deal for $300 Or it was $325.00 I can't remmeber which!
I thought that was a pretty good deal for all that cool looking stuff hangin on the back of my boat even if it didn't make it faster!
