Last March I sold my 1989 Baja 24 Sport. I want to get back into boating and went down to my local Baja dealer to look at a 2005 20 ft outlaw. I need honest advice as to what everyone thinks about this boat. It only had the 350 with Alpha drive. The dealer also wanted over 36K without trailer!!!!! I liked the lines but not the price. I believe this particular model was changed starting in 2003.

I've heard they run 60 w/that set up.....
However, not a very big boat. Where you gonna use it??
Got a kidney belt?

If your on a budget and most of us are I would look to the used performance market, such as Lavey, Hallett Ultra, Essex, and Shockwave etc, etc. You will find some good deals this time of year.

I have to agree, if I had the cash I would look at some of the boats on the forum. Nashvillebounds with that engine pkg is a steal. Alot nicer than a Baja IMO.

I would go with as large a boat as you can.
Best of Luck with your purchase.

I think its safe to say that he is not offering you the best possible deal on that boat. You can certainly get more boat for those dollars.

Definitely! Go with something a year or too older if on a budget. 20ft will get banged around! Look at 24ft or larger the boats mention above are excellent choices.

Shop around if you can afford that amount. Also since you have had a 24 foot I wouldn't go smaller. After having that size boat I bet you will be disappointed if you got a smaller one.
