Anybody ever used 8ohm speakers like horn drivers or mid bass woofers before? Ordered a pair of 6.5 mid bass and a pair of horn drivers to test out. $50.00 for both pair, tested them out and these suckers are loud and clear. want to go ahead and order 3 more pairs of each, but I am not too familiar with the 4ohm and 8ohm stuff and if they will work with regular car audio amps. I plan to run the Horn drivers off of one 4 channel 800 watt punch amp and the 6.5 mid bass off another 4 channel 800 watt punch amp. any input would help.

yes, running 8ohm is just fine. An 8ohm load is increased resistance on the amp. What may be determinted as bad is that you reduce power output of the amp, but you also decrease distortion... Keep in mind that running a 8ohm speaker in parellel creates a 4ohm load...
Compression horn drivers can be quite loud, as you found out :D
