...anyone purchased one from pooltableusa.com or from Costco? Just wondering how you liked the table, construction, and general satisfaction. The Costco table is made by pooltableusa.com and they are selling a 4x8 for $2690...

...I believe you get what you pay for, and I trust the items that Costco's back for sure. I don't think the $995 table would be too close to the same quality. They do offer cheaper tables on the pooltableusa.com site...

From what little (very little) research I have done, the deal from Costco seems pretty reasonable. When you look at the construction wood versus MDF or other materials and the items they throw in, it becomes a very good deal...Shop all the online places and they might be a little cheaper sometimes, but other are higher when comparing apples to apples with the different models and features.

..also FYI, Costco has a Sanyo model BC-1206 keg fridge/cooler tap for $449.99 which is over a hundred bucks cheaper than I have seen. :D

That price is really really high! I just bought a brand new Brunswick for about that same price. I picked the table, wood color, felt color, legs, pockets, plus it came with 6 really nice cue sticks, balls, 8 & 9 ball rack, stick rack, cover, chalk. Plus delivery was included in that price. Its was $2600.00 And my table is a brunswick! Brunswick, Connolly and Olhaussen are about as good of quality as its gets. You can get a connelly cheaper than I got my brunswick. You should also find out how many pieces the slate is and how thick it is. 3 piece slate is regulation, I believe and you can really tell the difference if you buy a good table with a thick slate, ball will roll better and it is a ton quieter. Good luck

Which model of Brunswick? The tables I am looking at all come with the accessories, shipping, installation...all feature 1" 3 piece slate, and 22oz felt (all that I am looking for)..

This is the model I bought, same table different color felt.

I found some off brands cheaper but I figured I would spend a little more and get a really good table. Mine is 3 piece slate and its an 1 1/2 I think.

Last year I researched this, and found out many of the inexpensive ones are from CHINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found a place in OC, I think they are in Placentia now (sorry working on the name). They make their own for a very fair price. mine is 4x8, 1" plus slate top, my choice of shade of oak stain, pro tournment billiard cloth, all cues, rack to match with stained oak, balls, etc, etc. DELIVERED to Havasu for about $2,800 Claw feet, etc. They have many options soit is a custom build. YES delivered and set up. It took four BIG dudes. They sell to many laughlin casinos and bullhead beer houses, so it was just another stop. Butn they will deliver and set up anywhere. They place an ad in rhe OC register nearly every week. Prices start at $1,400. The shop is open to the public, and the slate is stacked in back in crates. So u know u are not getting screwed.
Nice table, plays very fast and has survived some parties.
Can anyone help with the name?? They were in Stanton awhile back.
Why buy from Costco when u can have a custom tanle so the same price DELIVERED. It must weight about 800 pounds.

I believe Dennis26 bought from the place you refer to, they sell on eBay...I think this one from Costco is a little bit on the higher end compared to the $1400 one, has quite a bit more detail, comes with all the accessories, and is delivered and setup for you as well...

We have a Connely and love it. I don't play very much anymore, but it still looks good!
Around $2500 or so was what we paid for it 2 years ago. It's got all the goodies and upgrades except for the mother of pearl inlay stuff.
Great table, perfect for house play.

I bought an Olhausen from a Olhausen dealer. I wouldn't buy from a catalog or Internet as seeing how the construction is done is important to me. With a dealer in the price range you are looking at you can customize just about everything - felt color, pockets, wood, leg style, etc. The end result is exactly what YOU want. Take a trip to Quintesentials in Valencia or another dealer like them and you'll see the possibilities.

IMO 4X8 is too small, unless you are limited in room size. Also see if you can get the samonis(sp)? felt. :)
"scratch" that reference to 4X8 being too small. That's the medium sized table right? I was thinking of the 3.5 x 7.5? The 9' tables are really big for home use.

I have an Olhausen. They are made in San Diego which is not to far from you. They make a great table.

Table sizes are
3.5 x 7
4 x 8
4.5 x 9 (is full size)
5 x 10 is small size snooker table
6 x 12 is regular size snooker table
For home use, you'd typically want a standard felt, becuase it will hold up better to abuse.. If your serious about the game then you'd want Semonas 860.. Then again, if someone was really serious about pool they wouldn't be looking at these tables listed above. ;)

I'd look for a good used gold crown 1, then refurb it.
Getting it out here would be a little bit of a pain in the ass, but this looks like a pretty good deal on e-bay for a Gold Crown III

You could probably find something a little better / cheaper locally.. but here's an example of a gold crown I.. (pics are of it disassembled)

See alot of Pro players playing CueTec Que's too.. doesn't mean it's not a peace of shit cue.. LOL :D Means CueTec is sponsoring alot of the TV coverage. ;)
See Nextel is sponsoring Nascar now too.. doesn't mean my phone doesn't drop a call every 20 feet. :D
Olhausen's aren't bad tables, hell the pool hall I play out of has all olhausens. There just not exactly on par with a gold crown.

I know those are some good tables but and I'm serious about pool, but I was more serious about my house not looking like a pool hall. I just couldnt stomach one of those tables that looks like it should have a coin slot on the side of it. So I fagged out and went with a little more decrative brunswick, you know something real nice for my friends to spill their beer on.

If I was serious about pool?? Serious or not, I wouldn't put one of these Brunswick tables in my damn garage! If anything in my house is gonna be coin operated or have a ball return it better get me off. They are god awful..my intentions on this thread was to find someone who has taken one of these tables listed above home and to see if they were happy with the product. IMO the detail is pretty nice considering the price of the models they offer...If I was looking to get into a high end table, I would of simply replaced the 'one off' Golden West table we had in the past...I ain't looking to spend that kind of dough, I gotta figure out how to buy the house from Dennis26 so I will need the down payment :D
