I am sure like any gas motor you can hear a good sound difference with exhaust, maybe your gas mileage will increase :)

Where did you get the truck at? I have been looking the past few days and dealing with dealers to try to get the best price. What did you pay. And did you give any thought to the diesel?

I have 02 4x4 V-10 F250 superduty crew cab with the limited slip 4.30 rear end / automatic. I added the 14" long magnaflow muffler / backcat system and the K&N cold air intake. Tows like a dream and gets off the line pretty good. As for mpg's she gets about 10.5mpg. Doesnt matter if I tow or not. Dont expect the exhaust to rumble like a V-8 to many pistons, will be louder just not very beefy sounding.

Suggestion: Buy the extended bumper to bumper warranty from Ford. It costs less than $1500 & takes the car to 72k or 100k (for a little extra). Although Ford builds a great truck, their achilles heal are their transmissions. If you tow more than 5000lbs., don't expect more than 70k for the tranny to last.
Believe me, I've been there too many times.

GLD, do you get the warranty information from your Ford dealer or where do you get it. Also, do you know if they are offering any additional warranties on the diesel? I would like to increase the bumper to bumper. The 100k powertrain warranty is fine, but it seems that I always have problem, with any vehicle, around 60k and then it gets expensive!!!

It is actually handled in your negotiation with the finance guy at the dealer. You can still purchase an extended warranty after you drive off the lot with the car. I bought one with my '98 Expedition & it paid for itself 3 times over. My extended warranty went to 77k & at 69k my tranny quit. Ford fixed it & I paid $50.
Just make sure you buy a 'FORD' warranty not an after market.

I have an 01 F-250 LB CC 4X4 with the V-10 and it has been a good truck, but doesn't compare to my dads truck. He has the exact same truck with the 6.0 and it kicks ass. I have the stock 3.73 gears and I put a 4'' lift with 35's on it and I could tell the difference. I tow a 25' Commander with it and it does fine on the flat land but when I hit any hills I have to kick it down to drive. I put flowmaster exhaust on it and I think it sounds great, kind of like an exotic sports car, plus I added a K&N filter both of which didn't change the gas milleage at all. My milleage is about 10mpg with or without a load, doesn't bother me because I only use it as a tow vehicle. If you have any other questions let me know.

I have an 01 F350 crewcab shortbed4x4 with the V-10. I put the K&N filter and the big Magnaflow exhaust with the 3" mandrel bent system from the catback. I gotta agree w/ SpeedinIan, it does kinda have that exotic sports car tone when you rap it up. I run 285 75-16 Bfgs and I get 12-13 mpg on the highway (right at the speed limit) not towing and 10mpg towing about 5000lbs. SOmebody is gonna make fun of me for this, but I added on of those "Tornado Fuel Saver " gizmos from the 4:00am infomercials, and I swear it made a solid 1 mpg difference. My F350 is truly the best truck I've ever had, and I've had several.

I too put a spiralmax in (like turbonator) in my 94 suburban and went from 16mpg on the hwy. to 20 and got 16 towing to the river.
I had 2 of them, one sitting on top of the throttle body and one welded in the tail pipe for a quicker exit.
The funny thing is, is that i don't tell many people about it because they think im crazy but im always finding new gadgets to try out and then i take them on a road trip with.
On the wifes 94 Camry it picked the hp. and went from 26mpg to 30-31mpg and i always repeated these tests to make sure i wasn't crazy, im a believer now and also a dealer for this product.
Im going to have to try a couple in my new f-250 PSD...................Doug
