Hiya all. :p
I wanted to know if anyone can recommend a good website for job listings. I've been at my job over 10 years and it's been sold...possibly relocating the whole damn business to Sacramento. I've got a few months (I hope). Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jessi

Monster.com has been good to me.
I've tried headhunter.com, monster.com, dice.com, and hotjobs.com but monster has been the best.

From Bakersfield north are a lot of food co.'s. Fruit, dried, mexican., dryers, nestle and the carrot farms. Otherwise Dice, Monster, Hotjobs.com are the good places to go to.
The drive is only 75 miles and usually no traffic. I can get to you in about 45 minutes or less.
I will keep an eye out if you want.

Are you trying to be mean here? I do not have a barn. And my Chevy can make it just fine in 45 minutes up the vine.
The Mr is a Manager in a telco integration co. They have offices in Irvine, Murrieta, Bakersfield, and Valencia. Be nice I understand you are in the same line of work. :burningm:

Oh yeah, thanks to Monster.com I'm no longer in the telco biz. I was out soliciting telco products one day and got a call out of the blue. It was a company who found my resume on monster and was wondering if I was still looking for work. I wasn't looking but when she told me what they did I agreed to interview. The rest is history.
I spent the last 6 years in Telco and 5 of those 6 years hoping to some day get out of it. Thank you monster.com!

How does your resume look?
On the job sites there are certain keywords you need to use to get people to find your resume when they search. In your line of work I'm not really sure what they'd be but things like manager, president, supervisor, detail oriented, time management, self starter, success driven, and things of that nature will definitely help you I'm sure.
I had a couple friends that had really solid backgrounds and damn good experience. They weren't having any luck at all. It was due to their resumes looking like they had been written by a second grader. The right wording can make a McDonalds shift managers job experience look like the experience someone would have running as the CEO of a fortune 500 company.
It's ALL in the presentation.

I posted some of those key words you suggested but I will add more tomorrow. As for the resume I think mine looks pretty good but maybe it it's crap  . I'm going to show it to my current boss to see what she thinks (she is very supportive and great!).

Just remember, there is a river as big as the colorado that flows right through the downtown, lakes everywhere, the delta is right there and housing is a hell of a lot cheaper than So. Cal! It gets hot in the summer, but not as bad as the so cal/az deserts... and Tahoe/Reno are an hour and a half away! It ain't all bad living here...

Rivers, deltas, lakes, wineries, affordable housing AND quality time with Mrs. Restless22? I'm packing my bags...gotta go :)
Mike would love to move to Lake Tahoe (not so affordable) so I have to see how far the plant is from there. I don't think 1 1/2 hour of driving each day will keep me sane for long. Then again... , I'm not so sound now.
