I am thinking of buying a new boat, however, mine has been paid for for years. I kind of like having my boat sit in the garage not worrying over the winter about summer starting all over again. I see alot of people buying new boats, just wondering how much are you people putting down and what terms and payments are you looking at!
The boat i want is around 180K
thanks

I'm looking at boats in the 60k-80k range and am looking to put down 15k or so. Financed for 15yrs.......payments should be around $450.00

A good rule of thumb on boat payments is to figure $100 per month per 10K financed. This is based on a good interest rate of 6-7% and 15 year loan.

Paid cash.... Both of them...

First one was paid outright at purchase, the current daytona has a very low payment (financed only 18K) and hopefully I'll have it paid off by June of next year.

I've actually looked at your thread a couple of times......been thinking about it. I've been waiting til I test ride an Ultra 27 Shadow in the next week or so. Also looking to get a loan........the loan guy I had before told me he couldn'(I think wouldn't) get me a loan on a used boat. Dunno. Have you ever had her in the big blue???

Do you guys consider refinancing and using your equity to buy a boat as paying cash?
Thats about as far from cash as possible.

I sell boats and you would be surprised how many people are paying cash for thier boats. Yes they are refi the house and then useing that money to pay CASH for the boats, or they are selling second homes and just useing that money for the new toy. I am amazed at the amount of cash that is REALLY out there. Money does grow on trees you know (hell its made out of paper and paper is made from trees right). so Im told.......
My boats have ALL been paid for cash and not from refi.
LOL :supp:

Sorry, not trying to be negative but boaters do not ask other boaters what they paid for their ride. They know what the prices are from looking around. One dang thing is they cost too damn much!
That is a little unethical don't ya think? It's like asking someone what their salary is...or a woman her age.
