Has anybody Polished their lowers on the drives?? which step did you take to get a nice finish. Is there any performance gain or is it just a waste of time??

It can be done, looks great, but does not last long. Start out with some scotch brite pads, and finish it up with a polishing wheel and compound. I've heard from some drive gurus that it can actually hurt on the performance side. I said screw it, it looks to kool. Good luck

Drives look nice polished, some drives take longer then others depending how bore they are when they got put in the mold

Clearcoat over the top of them, especially if you plan on running in the salt. You will end up w/ 98% of the shine of uncoated for a long time, as opposed to having them polished every 2 weeks.
One of the OB guys polished, then painted flames on the lowers and cleared over it all.... VERY trick
