What is the best way to secure my trailer tongue?? With my boat sitting out in Havasu what is the best way to assure someone does not have an easy time hooking it up and hauling it away??
Good place to buy?

Since most of the other ones can be cut with bolt cutters, I got one of those coupler locks (Master Lock (http://www.etrailer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=E&Product_Code=378DAT&Category_Code=CL)).

Although...I guess it would be interesting to see someone try to steal a 13,000 pound trailer with electric brakes...

The best one I,ve seen locks around the wheel similar to the one the city uses if you dont pay your parking tickets. My buddy uses one on his trailer and it looks pretty indestructible.

Yeah...I think Master Lock makes a kit (http://www.midwayautosupply.com/detailedproductdescription.asp?9081) with those, too (keyed together).

Just to be safe, I always put a Club (and steering wheel cover) on my truck. If they can't moved the truck...it makes it tougher to get the trailer.

What I did was I cut the ball off an old trailer ball and when it is sitting I lock the ball into the tongue with the same lock I use when it is hooked to the truck.

HH, The Club don't make your truck safe. I can remove the club from your steering wheel with a bolt cutter in less than 30 seconds by cutting the wheel 2 times. The vehicle is easily drivable with the wheel cut. I threw all the Clubs I had away and bought these thingys. They are the shit and you ain't getting them off without a torch (which most car thievin kids don't show up with)... They are steel and ratchet lock between the brake pedal and the floor. Well worth the $ IMO.

I have a metal plate covering over the entire wheel (and backing)- the Club holds it on (you'd practically need a plasma cutter to get it off- bolt cutters won't work). Also, this thing keeps someone from jacking the airbag. I bought it a couple years go to supplement the Club.
I have been around long enough to know that theft devices are not perfect- just a deterrant. If someone really wants my POS, they're gonna get it. Hopefully, they won't have a plasma cutter...or they'll pick the truck next door that doesn't have an alarm and a lock.

Yeah that's the best deterrant right there...
Most people it seems don't bother with the extra locks or forget to put them on if the do have em. I don't even go in the grocery store w/o the lock on. Of course no one would want my old pos anyway compared to the new diesels, but hey it's paid for and I ain't got no 50k truck pmt.. .. :)

There were a few new trailer tongue locks at the SEMA show. One that stood out was made by Trimax locks. They have a website but a picture of the new lock is not on the up yet. They said it will be available to the general public pretty soon. It is similar in function to this one that came out last year by trailerguardian, but it is a lot more hefty and looks like it would be hard to break off. It can also be used with or without the tow vehicle hooked up to it.

The Gorilla or the Master lock.
I had a dude that wanted me to endorse his lock two years ago. He UPS'd me a lock, I cut throught it in 30 seconds with my portable Saw Zall.
ANY locak can be defeated, but those tow will take some work and LOUD noises while doing so. And DO NOT think for a moment you boat is safe inside storage. Lock it up the same.
Typical master pad locks through the coupler are a jike. Give up that 30 to 60 bucks.
Ask yourself; Self, how much did I spend on the tunes for my boat... and how much have I invested in a lock? DA. :hammer2:
