This AM in the OC, a 26' Eliminator Daytona was stolen.
Taken from the Huntington Beach area....
Boat is white with purple & yellow stripes down the side.
Has a big air-scoop on the engine hatch with matching paint job.
Motor is a quadrotor Whipple set-up.
Drive is a IMCO 4x4 with a stand-off box.
Last seen being towed by a blue truck.
At this time, no other details can be provided......
BTW....It's not my boat or the one pictured below.....

Nope, definately not a repo, just can't say where it was stolen from to protect the investigation, but it was a real daring theft!

sounds like the repo man to me.What part of this sounds like a repo? All the repo jobs I've heard of included contact after the hook up, it doesn't sound like there was any contact after this deal. I'll treat it as a stolen and watch for it until recovered or proven otherwise.

The boat belongs to a good friend of mine. The boat is white w/ almost diagonal tiger stripeish scheme and the purple is very dark-almost black looking at first glance. Has clear canopys and as mentioned-scoops are painted to match scheme. I hav pix Ill try to dig up tommorrow. If you look at the hot boat issue w/ the recent Eliminator regatta-its in the middle of the page on the end of a row of boats.
BTW-Not a repo job-owner is solid.

you may want to check rancho marine recycling on a story i did we found that most stolen boats end up there when no one claims them after they are discarded there # is 916-638-8908

I'm in the Sacramento area. I'll keep my eyes peeled. That recycler also has a web page, you might want to check them out. Drop them an email to see if they have heard anything about it...

Just a guess, but maybe this boat is already being dis-mantled..Maybe post some info about specific about parts, seats, radio, etc? A guy we knew bought a used engine for his boat that ended up being from a stolen boat. He certainly did not know it at the time and had no reason to suspect...he ended up out his money and minus the engine. Buyers beware..thieves suck!!

Ended up finding out thru the police. Apparently they did a good investigation. In the beginning he was a suspect too!!!! But that was all cleared up right away. I guess parts off the stolen boat were sold all over the place and not all were recovered. The engine was advertised to him from a guy who owned a boat upholstery shop, just down the way from the riggers where he was getting his boat done.

Where was it located? Stripped? just the motor? what about the drive and or the interior as well. Just curious

You may view the recovered boat info at the recovered section at www.boatman.com EVERYTHING except for the stand off box and the fuel tanks were taken. Be on the lookout for the Imco 4x4 drive and the Pfaff motor. Still waiting internal info for a reward amount. Pfaff uses Dart blocks.

I know the location word travels fast in the boating community, and this place is not protected very well, it is a case of it will never happen to me.
