We pulled this out of the lake in Havasu today. It was 4' long & weighed about 300lbs. It was all 2 city park workers & my self could do to get it in their truck. It was floating at about the bouy line in Thompson Bay. It was a cold mofo jumping in the water to tie the rope on it. That thing would sink any boat that hit at speed.

It would sure make for bad week-end. Why would someone throw that in the lake.

Sometimes the rain breaks things like that loose from the shore. It may have been left behind and then washed down.

I have often discussed the extreme dangers of boating at night on any body of water, especally in the dark desert night.

Boy thats for sure! I've seen 80' trees with birdnests cruising by (one hit my houseboat and took out all the bow railing and then rammed my I/O into full up posistion...all while tied to the dock) . When the water goes up really fast it cleans out everybody's backyards from Redding/Red bluff to Sacramento. Watched many Little Tyke toy sets cruise by along with Wheel barrows (yes, the tire floats them), old TV's, etc,. Once when they opened the weir to relieve levee pressure, all the pumpkins (literally 1000's) of them drained out of the farmers fields and came down the river that was hilarious and even made the TV news.

No Shit!
Imagine that thing taking out your steering (or worse)at night?
At best you'd have no control, at worst you'd run into something and sink. :jawdrop:
And with the rains, it will only get worse.

Hey Mike - Thanks for taking that pine tree out of the lake
That explains what happened to ya on Sat. Couldn't find you.
Next time we meet up, I'll show you a neet Scouting trick to tie up logs so ya don't get wet.

How funny LOL I guess that was a good public service in your boating environment.
That is normal for any lake or river with anything but rocks for shore line.
