Arafat was:
* a terrorist
* promoting jihad
* one of the richest men in the world
* a thief - he stole MILLIONS of dollars from international relief monies that we to go to HIS people - they lived in poverty while he did NOTHING to help them
* the lowest of the low - he sold his people and himself to others in the Arab world - another source of his money was funds given to him by other Arab countries (including Saddam himself) to continue terrorizing Israel and killing innocents to keep the attention focused on Israel so the Arab countries didn't have to deal with THEIR OWN terrorists - they were drawn to Palestinian territory to terrorize Israelis
* not a leader of his people - he turned his back on his people, he didn't negotiate in good faith with Israel and he screwed Clinton when he turned down the most lucrative peace accord that he and "his people" would ever see - he said no to the peace plan that Clinton tried to broker. Why? Because he did not want peace. He could not afford to have peace - he'd have been killed by those who paid him tens and hundreds of millions to continue his war on Israel and he wouldn't have gotten any more money.
Arafat was the worst of the worst. He makes the devil look good. He's personally responsible for thousands of deaths of innocent men, women and children in his "country" and elsewhere.
Arafat was not a hero, not a champion of anything but terror. And everyone should celebrate his death as it represents an opportunity to truly try again for the peace that has eluded his people and the people of Israel.
Unfortunately the forces behind Arafat still exist so the likelihood of peace is still bleak. But for today let's celebrate his death!
