I heard that it is within 1/2% of the armchair racers. hehe

I race stock cars and have run both desktop and real dyno time. Desk top is really pretty close if you accuratly quantify your heads. Some engines with inherently shitty breathing it overstates a little. We run 377 clevors and windsors and have found desktop to be about 5% conservative. the curve was real close

oldphart what is a clevor. I have been running a cleveland in my boat for a while. I am building a stroker 408 out of a 351 c.speed o motive just sent me the kit.dyno says it should put out good numbers thats why I wanted to check.

Dyno 2000 is a great tool for swapping different components to see what they do on a given engine combo. You can swap cams, carbs, cr ratios and get an idea of what they will do.

Turbo, A Clevor is what you get when you combine CLEveland heads and a windsOR block. Requires some special parts to do it(pistons and intake manifold for starters).I believe there is some modification to a coolant passage in head as well. All the major magazines have done buildups over the years. Here's a page I found with some basic info. http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Freeway/2520/index.html (http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Freeway/2520/index-8.html)

Yer right about the clevor. the cleavland bottom has some major oiling problems and that damn cam cover plate is really irritating if you get in the engine as often as we do. its also heavy but they do have some great heads. in classes where no head modifications can be done we see 500-510 with a relativly stock configuration. water ports in the head need minor grinding and B&A in arkansas makes the intake for the swap. The Australian heads have closed chambers, big valves but the 2 barrell ports.
We tried the 4 barrell heads but the engine was a turd. no response off the corner or in traffic.
