Saw one last weekend and stopped to check it out. The lady had just bought it in Stockton an hour before. Didnt like the color or the V-6 but the car looked AWSOME. Caught my eye as I was driving by and I had to turn around, loved the inside of it too. :D
I had a Saleen that I really liked...only Ford I ever owned............;)

I've seen several driving around town. Mostly Red and Yellow. I want to see a black one. Are they going to make a convertible?

Saw one on the 405 yesterday. Kind of a light blue, and did nothing for the car. I want to see one in Highland green to match my 68, then I might buy one.

I have seen a few of them here and there, stock they are ok looking, but with the FMS accessories they look awesome. I am still like the looks of the 03' Cobra.

The convertible won't be out for a few months. I might buy one for myself as 40th Bday present. Don't know if I like the looks of the 05 yet. I like the hood scoop look of the 04.

Saleen is next to our Irvine office. If you want to see about 1000 new mustangs, drive behind their shop. They jam up and down the street all day in full on Saleen 7SR's. Sounds like Bullitt only better!

I thought they did a great job with the GT40. Of course that's another $400,000.

I really have been burned by the Fords in my life. Bad. But, that being said, I really like the way that car looks inside and out.
PS. The day my Vette runs a high 12, you will know I burned a couple of spark plug wires (To bite an Info line...) ;)
It would take a supercharged Mustang to beat a stock Vette, and the Z06 will still nut in it's face.

EXTREME, by all accounts and it only 61K. Think about it to get the same performance you would have to spend 200K on a Porsche

Thats very true. I've driven the Viper, Vett, not the Porsche though. By all accounts it seems to be the best bang for my hard earned dollar.

I just spent two weeks testing a yellow '05 GT, and walked away more than impressed. The story will post tuesday on edmunds.com, but for now all I can tell you is that we also have an '05 C6 Corvette in the fleet and most of my fellow road test editors agreed that the Mustang is actually more fun to drive. Not as fast, but for half the money it is one hell of a performance car. It feels like it has a lot more than 300 horsepower, probably because the new 3-valve heads really wake up the bottom end grunt of this motor. The shifter is short throw like an aftermarket unit, and Ford got the steering feel PERFECT. Personally, I love the looks of the car, and the interior is one of the best domestic interiors I've ever seen. I've been a little worried about Ford lately, but they really hit the nail on the head with this thing. After spending an entire day at our test track running the hell out of it, the best I was able to eak out was a 13.81@104.4. However, it was pretty warm out and I was having serious traction issues. The 0-60 time was much more impressive, in the mid-5s. We do our acceleration testing at Camarillo airport, since it more accurately simulates real world driving conditions. I think if someone were to take one of these cars to a real drag strip with VHT on the starting line and cooler ambient temperature, low 13s would definately be possible. It also sounds great, like an early '90s 5.0 with a flowmaster system. Everywhere I took this car people freaked out.
So how much did I like the new Mustang? Enough to order one... my VIN number came in yesterday. At SEMA a company was displaying a true shaker hood setup like the one on the '04 Mach 1, and I think that might be the first mod. We'll see... :shift:

If 300 horsepower isn't enough, a few different companies are already offering blower kits. The saleen unit is super cool, since it has an integral intercooler and looks like the Ford GT unit, but the Vortech will fit under a stock hood. Check it out:

Have you ever driven the somewhat recent GT40? I love the looks of the new stang as well. For a boat motor I've always been all about Chevy but have had better luck vehicle wise w/ Fords and that GT 40 or a Pantera are on my buy before I die list

I have had an 86 GT and a 93 GT, the 93 ran most of its life with the blower whinning and sold it at 120k miles with not one problem, great car. Wasn't to thrilled with the looks of the 94 and up. I have a seen 3 05's around and I have to say they are the best looking since the 67 fastback. I think Ford has a winner on their hands.

Isn't that the Cobra R thats supposed to be coming back, real race car for the street, only so many to be produced, if it's anything like or better than the original, some street folks and track folks are going to be in trouble.
MMM MMM MMM Oh Honey, Xmas is coming up and well ... i saw this really neat toy that would look so nice in the newly cleaned and organized by your oh so loving hubby garage.... Yes i have been a bad boy ... but i can explain.....wish me luck i'm going in for the kill ..... MVG :D

I saw all of the Stang's at the recent car show. Nice stuff.
As far as the GT, a real shame it will NOT be available for the sticker price. It is within price range of many prople, but e bay has a few. It seems the going rate might settle at 300K. I do not expect that to change much due to a low production figure.
