Monsters of Rock tour back in I believe 87' or 88' in Kansas City. Ozzy, Metallica, Great White, etc... There were like 8 or 9 major bands touring together. It's been to long ago, but I think it was a hell of a show. :D

The Eagles "When Hell Freezes Over", not my favorite but probably the most memorable for a couple of reasons, 1. the Wifes very first concert ever 2. Got in a fight with the a-hole behind me, 50,000 people in the stands and he is the only one that wants to sit down, he poured beer on my wifes seat then told the Cops that we wouldn't sit down, when the police left I was in my first and last fist fight, he didn't win...

In terms of music, I'd have to say Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple and Rory Gallagher, 1972 at the San Berdoo Swing Auditorium.
For entertainment, It was definitely Alice Cooper at the Forum in 1971. The guillotine bit was the most awsome thing I've seen on stage from ANY band.

I had just gotten back from Ground Zero. I'm a little tweeked in the head and my wife begs me to go see Toby Keith. I liked him anyway so we go. I believe that. The place is really something. I didn't think it would effect me, just a construction site in the middle of the city. Well, it is a lot more than that, you can feel it in the air.

Ozzy with Motley Crue as the opening act. The Crue completely blew Ozzy away. Had really close seats in a small arena, the refer was kicking in just right it was completely awesome. I would have to say by the crowd’s response I wasn't the only one to think that Ozzy was outplayed.
Now in terms of shear musical talent. That would have to be Yngwie Malmstien opening up for AC/DC. Yngwie is god!

The bands were
Ted Nugent Aerosmith Santana Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush
Dave Mason Heart
I was 15 yo. The crowd was huge 250,000 + people After the first few bands my friend who was 16 and drove us out there the night before. and I started walking around which was not easy to do with all of the people and carrying a cooler full of stuff. I remember vividly waiting in line to use a portable toilet and when I opened the door the thing was full of crap. I mean so full their was a mound above the lid. Got pushed through a gate walked over to a white tent and asked the people inside if we could leave the cooler there. They let us and asked if we wanted anything to eat or drink. We thought this was so cool, didn’t know why they were being so nice. Turns out it was the medical tent. Left the tent and realized we were behind the fence for the stage. Walked to the back of the stage, which was huge, and up the scaffolding stairs the actual stage. Watched from there for a while. Walked back down the stairs and through all the scaffolding under the stage to the front climbed back up the scaffold to where we were eye level with the stage in front of a massive wall of speakers. What a view of the crowd and the haze above them . After leaving that spot I don’t remember much except for a rageing head ache and that cooler never made it back home.

Dead Kennedys @ The Long Beach Longshoremans Hall 81. Superior unlawlesness and a good riot!!!!
The GEARS with Suburban Lawns I think 1980 "oh my janitor"
Blackflag and DOA 1979 @ the Whiskey agogo. What a good F'n riot that was!!!!!!!!! Hollywood cops bit off a little more than they could chew thanks to the call from the promoter. Back in the day the gig would sell beyond capacity and the promoter would call the Fire Department who would call PD and shut down the show. Promoter doesnt pay band cause they didn't play...... get it. Sorry for the longpost.

I saw SRV in 1987 after "Live Alive" came out. Again in 1989 with Jeff Beck, and yet again in 89 for the "In Step" tour. BB King opened for him. Then, I had tickets to see him in Fresno in September... a month after he died in the helicopter crash after playing the allegedly legendary show with Clapton, Guy and Cray.
Needless to say, I get choked up when I see footage of him playing now. I saw the Freeview last month on DirectTV of him in Montreaux and it just blew my mind.
I need to get the DVD's now. The "Live from the El Macambo" is out I guess.

Blind Melon, Social D and Neil Young at the Pacific Amp in Costa Mesa....about 93' I think. What a mix.
Us Festival II
Kiss has always been great. Kiss and Smashing Pumpkins at Dodger Stadium, Halloween kicked butt. The last Kiss concert I woke up under an MRI unit though
One weekend I went to Sammy Hagar/Quarterflash at the Orange Pavilion, sweating my ass off. The next nite we hit Billy Squire/Def Leppard at Irvine - rain or shine and yup, it rained like hell, froze my azz off.
Cheap Trick at Swing Aud in SBDO 1979 - in their prime, I always remember that one too.
Strangely, I've also been to 3 Cult shows - yet never seen them.
THE ultimate concert looked like U2 at Red Rocks, Colorado in 81'.

Any and all Rage shows. Went to their filming of Freedom video in some little warehouse in L.A. They played a small set for the peeps. Only about 75-80 of us in there. It was the shit. They were the bomb back then. Lotta energy.
I have a bunch more, but these were the best.

Neil Young always puts on a good show especially when Crazy Horse is with him.
Godsmack was also good when they opened for Metallica earlier this year.
Anyone from back east way remember a group called Crack The Sky? Good shows.
