What gears do I run

I'm fishing for some information on what gear ratio to run in my next project.
It's a 19ft vee bottom hull with a s/c 502 and will be used for social skiing only including pulling kids.
If there is anybody out there running a similar setup I would love to hear what gears you are running as I have heard many different ratios from 18% through to 45%.
Any help is appreciated.

Does it have a transmission?

my guess is between 25 and 32%. You just have to get out there and try a few different ratios.

The boat won't be running any trans. just through a soft clutch set up.

Too many variables to just shoot out a #. What kind of power, prop size, what rpm your motor can hang at with out blowing up....stuff like that.

delusional502, With what info you have to give now, an 18% gear and a Good 15 or 16 pitch 3-Blade is all that you are going to be able to pull. Good 3-blade meaning NOT a brass prop. :D TOM..
