Why dosen't someone have the Molds for those Boats & is still making a few (like Biesemeyer, Rayson Craft, Hondo...)

It's a 1971 Sanger bubbledeck flatbottom. Not a runnerbottom. I have the original transfer of title from Sanger Boats to the first owner. I posted in the V-drive section 1 1/2 months ago about it. It needs some work but I dig it.

That's what I'd classify it as. One like I've never seen before, with that dash, a sealed off bow, and offset rudder. All done by Sanger. Pretty unique, that's why I like it

Come to think of it I remember that Sanger was trying to build a better circle boat and I think that was the result in '71. Is the bottom slightly deeper on one side than the other ???
Jim

Flat Happy
11-23-2004, 02:19 PM
In actuality, the bottom of the boat is not completely FLAT. The middle is flat and there are very slight concave sections that start about 6-inches from the outside edges. Kind of like this (not as drastic, but a very slight curve if you will):
.----..................----.
The concaves run up to about where the front skag is located. I could snap a photo, but won't be able to upload it until Friday.

Squirtin Thunder
11-23-2004, 02:29 PM
 Sort of like this but more flat right ???

Flat Happy
11-23-2004, 02:36 PM
Yeah, like your outside curves, but a lot more subtle. You can barely notice it, but once you look at a true flatbottom it's clear as day. I'll take a picture for you and PM it to you when I get it on my computer.

Squirtin Thunder
11-23-2004, 03:43 PM

I had no idea what I had purchased until I got on this forum. From what I've learned here, not a bad boat to start my boating career with.

Just a quick note about the Sanger Registry (actually applies to ALL the Registrys). If you have registered your boat and have a pic of it hosted on the internet, I can create a hyperlink, so when people click on your HIN, they're taken to your pic. Give it a try on Jim's listings. If you'd like me to add it, send an email to registries@roostwear.com with your HIN# and the URL of your picture.

Great looking sprint Rondo!
I am in the process of piecing back together a 1977 sprint jet. The last major hurdle I have are a set of headers. Just curious if there is a certain type of header to avoid(or certain demensions)? Are the ones on yours "wet"?
Thanks!

If you do have a Sprint, I don't think a twisty style header will work! The outside tube will come too close the the gunnel. I actually ordered my boat from Sanger with twisted headers and Sanger installed standard Bassett long jet headers. I wore them out and now have the same brand but have the short version. I like the fit and the look but the law is on me now. I'm trying to find something that will lower the DBs but save the HP! :skull:

Squirtin Thunder
03-11-2006, 09:34 PM
I have also tried the twists and they don't fit on the BBFs eather, Standard Bassets work great as well as Standard Rewarders.

Tim_T
03-12-2006, 08:22 AM
I ran Sanderson twists on my 455 and didnt have any problems. They were close but they didnt touch anywhere. But Im thinking the sandersons were bent back over the valve covers a bit more than the bassetts or rewarders are. Now im running OT gil headers that are standard. Just my .02

Nice boat Indeep!!! Have you ever wondered why there are more old Sangers around than other brands!!!????
My guess is ...Sangers were built better!
Back in the '70s [yes, I was boating back then] I was told that Sangers were too heavy and not as fast as some other brands. Some said the bare hull weighted 800#. I don't think mine is that heavy. I should weigh it. I have the engine out right now. HHHmmmm...That would be interesting!?
Anyway,,,,,,These were some well built boats!!
Yours looks great Indeep! Let us know the stats on it!
