I want to buy a portable unit that I can plug into my excursion or boat. Does anyone have any thoughts, or suggestions.

I have XM in both cars...and we have it in our boat as well. XM monthly service is cheaper then Sirus...nothing bad to say about XM..it is great to have on the boat. It should come standard in all boats......

I had XM and loved everything about it minus the commercials. Was considering getting Sirius because it's commercial free. Now XM is commercial free again so I'll probably just reactivate my XM reciever.

Ive got XM in both my trucks and one for the house. We have sirius installed on all the boats we sell here, and it seems as all the car mfg are installing XM in the new ones. The one I have in the house I can move from home to the motor home.
I like xm because it is only 9.95 per month for the first one and then 6.95 for each additional, were Sirius is 12.95 per month and each additional is another 12.95 per month
you can check them both out at
XM RADIO (www.xmradio.com)
SIRIUS RADIO (www.Sirius.com)
Good luck with whatever you choose they are both good....

XM is the way to go. They offer units with greater tech. They now have a unit the size of an MP3 player with 5 hour recording capacity. Also, they have Opie and Anthony. They are much more funny than Howard. Go to XMraido.com

I bought the XM system, boom box, etc. several months ago. Works great for music, comedy, sports news.
I have a friend with Sirrus, he bought it for the Football Package  which XM does not have yet :frown:

XM can afford to be cheaper right now with over 2.5 million subscribers to Sirius' 700k...with Howard Stern starting in 2006, and Mel Karmazin (former head of Viacom) joining the company they should pass XM with no problems, also as the official NFL provider and sponsor it will not take much for them to move! Take some extra $$ and put SIRI in your portfolio and hold on, XMSR started out in the 4 buck range and is now up to the $35 range! :D

Hey All,
Sony and Clarion are both busy making head units that will support both if you want both XM and Sirius. Currently XM is the only one making a profit and it's very small and just kicked in in October. Sirius on the other hand has some serious sales needed in order to make a profit and aren't scheduled to do so any time soon, they are betting Howard Stern who will probably fix things. On XM you get MLB while on Sirius you the NFL.
