View Full Version : Parade of Lights questions

This will be our first POL. Any advice as to the best viewing and parking spots? Also, does the route just go through the channel or does it also pass a beach? We tried to get reservations at Barley Brothers, but of course were about 6 months too late. Thanks for any help.

The parade only runs through the channel. If your going to be in a boat, the best place to be is parked along the shore in the channel. If your not going to be in a boat, you can sit along the walkway's in the channel. You will have a good view of the parade from either place.

Wherever you decide to view the parade, get there very early. Mid day would be about right to stake a spot. Dress warmly as the temps get pretty chilly. Parking always sux.

We always park in the lot by the bathroms/dog park. Get there early as stated above. The police usually close that area to incoming cars around 3-4 or so. There's also big bushes nearby as the lines for the bathrooms get real long. :D

From what I was told by my very reliable neighbor in LHC the dirt lot between the channel and the Island Inn that a lot of people park in will NOT be available for parking this year.

That's what I heard too. Apparantly it is private land and the owners don't want the liability of people parking on it. Last year the lot was closed and parking was grim.
