Im getting closer to building my BBC. I got my block in today. Its a Gen VI 454 block. So far i have block, intake, exhaust, roller lifters, timing cover, lifter retainers and the dogbones that hold the lifters in place. Are the stock hyd roller lifters ok for 500-600 hp?

Depends on the lift......

Does a Gen VI use the same motor mounts as a Gen IV. I may get a rail kit.

Motor plates are the same for MK IV and a Gen VI. I have a some parts for sale for a Gen VI motor as follows:
1. Used motor plates
2. Used Callies Magnum Plus 4340 forged crankshaft with a 4.375 stroke one piece rear seal
3. Stef's 13 quart aluminum oil pan for a Gen VI with oil pump and pickup
If interested, PM me.

Watch out for the peanut-port heads that came on trucks. Smallest port I've ever seem - smaller than "oval" ports - almost round. They seem to be real common. They say these heads are good for low rpm torque, but suffer when it comes to high rpm hp.

Taylor man, NO on the lifters. If you check your GM HP catalog, you'll see that they use a different part number lifter for the performance engines. I learned this the hard way.
