thought I would share a few shots of my day on Keller Peak outside of Running Springs, at the KABC ENG (electronic news gathering) antenna and the "Running Springs Cam". we were up there to repair the camera and it was a gorgeous day, in the background is San Gorgonio. this is the shot you will se on Ch 7's news....

that is about 100' off the ground, but not your typical tower, we had to climb stairs on that one, the spiral kind that kick your ass. But the site is at about 5 or 6000' amsl.

Cool. I grew up in that area. We used to party and 4x4 all over the place near there. The views are amazing. Keller Peak is actually 7,800 feet above sea level. It is right next to Slide Peak which is the back side mountain at Snow Valley ski area. We used to drive up Keller Peak road in our trucks when it snowed at 7,000 ft + to go play in the snow.
Butler Peak is awesome. Its about 8,500 and only accessibly by dirt road. I used to take my kids up there in the Jeep and check out the views. It has got to be one of the best view points in So Cal. Here is a shot of the road going up:
