Thats the Hone-O- Matic O.D. Kinda like a gear vendors. When your running down the road you put the truck in neutral pull the shifter back engaging the O.D. then put the truck back in drive. and now you have split all your gears by 50%. The drive shaft is a 3pc and this gear box sits on a frame inbetween the back 2 drive shafts with a input and out put yoke.
