The lake level in Havasu is normally 444-445, and as of today the level is 447-448, higher then it has been in about five years, this is from a havasu source (Not GrassPay$)

I control water in Havasu and cannot change it more than a foot in a 24 hour period. I've been running Hoover a lot the last few days due to other generation issues.

I'm not so sure about that. I've checked the reports on the Lower Colorado River Operations web page for the last five years and it has been higher than 447-448. From April to September it ranges anywhere from 447-449+
Here is the page http://www.usbr.gov/lc/riverops.html

I went by the ramps last weekend and commented to myself and my daughter how high the level seemed, as well as to my wife on the way out of town near Williams river. Noticing that there was no white stripe around the lakes edge anywhere. It looked very full to me...........especially comparing it to last years level around this time when I could see the footings of the London Bridge.

I was there for the entire week of thanksgiving, and the water level got higher as the week progressed. Went up 1 cinder block on the launch ramp wall during that week.

Is this sudden increase due to the water they let out of powell? Cause they said it would have an immediate impact on down stream levels that would be corrected with a drop in outflow from Powell until the levels normalize.

Yes and no, I just control the Generation of Hoover Dam. We are heavily regulated as to what we can and cannot run. We are in the wet season, and lake levels will hopefully be rising throughout the colorado river basin. Havasu is the last reservoir in the chain and is typically kept at a constant level.

Well we did have that 90 hour FLUSH that was just slowed down on Thanksgiving Day.. but the flows are supposed to be decreased to make up for the "Flash Flood" until spring run off up here at Powell... lets keep doing the Snow dance for the areas that run off into the Colorado!

The river levels have been extremely low the last couple of weeks so I may think twice about going to the sand bar. I've seen sand bars/rock bars that I haven't seen in years!!!
Hey jeepinscott were abouts do you work?? I also work for SCE.
