I looked at a 2003 Chevy HD 2500 Duramax today drove it and its everything I was looking for. The guy is asking $34,900 obo. So I did my homework on the truck befor I saw it today and the truck is worth $26,000 high blue book. The truck is lifted 6" on 35s, and has a few other aftermarket parts, so I figure he has maybe $4-5,000 in lift and other parts on it so I offerd him $30,000 he said no and the least he can go is $32,000. He told me he only owes around $24,000. So what would you do? Is it worth it or not? Thanks for any help Bryce

Let me see......the truck is worth 26K and you want to pay full price for aftermarket add-ons? Explain to him DEPRECIATION. I'd say 30K is a generous offer. Stand on 30k and tell him to call you if he would like to sell. Keep looking around.....pretty soon that 2K difference will go away if he only owes 24K and no one else is knocking on his door. Remember you pay tax on the sale price!

Alright good question Bryce. if he was to trade that truck in the dealership would give him low blue book and not much for the lift and tires everything depricates on vehicles. No matter what someone has in a truck they are lucky to get it out.I think 30 was way more of a good offer. I would just sit back and wait. Even if you bought the truck a bank would only give you high blue book for a loan and in the worst case sceniro if it got stolen you could only recovery what you have into it. I think they give low blue book with extras so its up to you. I would tell the guy you got 4 days my offer is 30k if you want it here is my number just my opinion though :D

Do not buy that truck!!! As was stated earlier, talk to Jay Photoglou before buying anything. You didn't state if it was crew cab or 4wd, but I think you will be shocked at how little a price difference you are dealing with if it doesn't have those options to get a new truck with a full warranty.

I would just keep looking. Why would you want to start out behind the eight ball. People lift trucks for their own personal satisfaction not for resale value. I'd keep looking. The guy's proply lying about what owe's on the truck. He might owe 24k on the truck but how much does he owe on his credit card for the lift. Just my .02... Good luck...
