Tragic mistake

Well Im up pretty late strolling the net and come upon this story. I had no ideal that this happened. I thought Tillman had died from enemy fire. What a tragic mishap! :mad:

There was an article in today's DMN about this, and it employed the worst journalistic work I have seen outside the tabloids.
The article read like an action thriller, complete with quotes from Spc. Tillman. Uh, wait a minute. Unless the reporter was there to hear Tillman speak, the proper way to report the story would be along the lines of "Tillman said so and so, according to (insert actual person's name)".
The online version has been properly sanitized, but the story in today's DMN print edition was disgusting. Spc. Tillman is certainly not the only U. S. Armed Forces person to die from friendly fire.
The Washington Post reporter that wrote this piece of tripe benefits from the wonderful position of hindsight and the ability to criticize the actions of soldiers under fire.
Spc. Tillman served his country with honor, and the fact that the uncertainties of war contributed to his death do not lessen his service.
I condemn the Post for abrading this raw wound. The press continues to exhibit the idea that bashing our military is more important than reporting the good our country does.

I think we are all saddened evertime we hear of a soldier's death regardless of who he is or how he died. This is no different except this soldier had a well known talent - many others that die also have talents, but they are not as widely known.
I have become so skeptical of the info from any press source that I am nearing seclusion. It is rare that we find an UNBIASED reporting but I am holding hope still.
Remember - Friendly fire isn't anymore friendly than enemy fire.
