View Full Version : What's your favorite Christmas Music?

I run an open house through the Christmas Season.
I pour lots of Balieys and cream kinda drinks, and play christmas music.
Everyone says they like my Christmas music the best,, but I really think it's because they're tired of their own, or they're drunk. The ol' Johnny Mathis and Brenda Lee tunes get tired after a few decades.
A few suggestions of the stuff my guests like, and tunes that play well Christmas Eve and Christmas morning:
A Trumpeters Lullaby- Wynton Marsalis
Bugalers Holiday- The Canadian Brass. (Spelling may be jazzed)
Anything by the Manheim Steamroller
The Andrew Sisters
Vienna Choir Boys
Dean Martin's Christmas tunes.
The above mixed up an a CD makes for good present unwraping music.
Bailieys and cream is expensive,, and the knock offs are never as good.
The exception being Gallos Cask and Cream. I can't tell the difference, and a giant Magnum goes for about $13 at Rite Aid.
My cat loves the stuff,, though I don't give him much because he tangles often with neighborhood Coyotes,, and that may be tuff with a few drinks in him.
What are your favorite tunes & artists at Christmas?:

Listening to it now...
Trans Siberian Orchestra - "Christmas Eve and Other Stories". They have 3 CD's out now (Christmas Attic is another one), but the first one is my favorite.
Very good rock musicians (Savatage) meet the orchestra and chorus and nail it.
Track 3 "A Star To Follow" gets me in the spirit every time...(as the snow starts to fall...)
Also, trust me on this one - go find any of the Bob Rivers "Twisted Christmas"
albums - songs like "Chipmunks Roasting On An Open Fire", "Walking 'Round in Women's Underwear" - put it on, and watch your guests' faces as they start catching on to the lyrics. Seriously funny shiznit...unless you're hosting the PETA Christmas Party, of course...

One of my picks is same as Mike's,
Do They Know It's Christmas by Band-Aid (80's bunch of UK rock/pop artists)
Other's I like ...
A Spaceman Came Travelling by Chris DeBurgh
Christmas Is Coming by Payola$
So This Is Christmas ... I dunno the title exactly or if it's Lennon, McCartney or Beatles? I just like it. :)
The 12 Days of Christmas by Bob And Doug McKenzie (two turtlenecks and ... A BEER! :D LOL!)
Mary's Boy Child by Boney M
Actually Boney M Christmas album is one of my all time faves but I haven't heard any of it in ages.
Charlotte Church singing any Christmas song - that girl has the voice of an angel!
Kenny G. and Frank Mills are pretty good also.
I can only take the Christmas music in spurts I still have to have my regular doses of un-Christmas hard rock.
