I understand that 40oz Carpet is durable and high quality, but for a Jetboat with minimal surface area for laying carpet, would 20oz sufface?

I'm 90% sure I'm going to go with 20oz in my open bow. That's what was in it and it was just fine. I think the 20oz will be easier to work with as far as molding around the ski locker, seat bases, etc. Another thing to consider is the 40oz will hold water longer than 20oz. Also, the 20oz costs half as much.

Thanks Slick!
That's exactly what I was visualizing. I found a roll of 20oz in 8'X15' for $96.00 online in Charcoal color. Not bad I think...No?

I've noticed the backing on different samples I've gotten in the mail are quite different. The backing from one company in general is much more stout than say the samples I got from Overtons or West. I'd ask to have a sample sent to you.

This is who I'll probably be ordering the carpet from. They had samples of 40oz and 20oz to me within a week. http://www.rrtextiles.com/html/marine.html
