The K's do run Burley. They didn't have any last year because none of the east coast capsule boats showed up. In 2003 there were 5 in attendance. 2005 is still up in the air.
ron retired the k-9 after his early 90's long Beach crash. If Hud doesn't post a pic of the boat, I'll dig one up eventually.

Ron "mad dog" Bolton, K9.......Last I heard he was in the Elsinor area building street rods. But he still had the Kelron molds, and would make a boat if $omebody wanted one. Sadly Dwayne Bolton has passed on. That was a show to watch, that K9 boat with big Ron ripping it up!!!!!.........MP

Yes 1Bahnerjet, you are correct. Julian sold the boat to Lee Anderson out of Minnesota. The boat was painted all orange. The number was K-109 and the
name indeed was MISS DOWNTOWN. A picture of the boat is in this tread
below. I believe Mirvin Miller drove the boat for awhile, and then got Julian
back in the seat and drove it for year. Or something like that. I've got a
picture of me standing on the trailer next to Coldfire in Clear Lake, Iowa
shortly before it was painted. I'll scan it later.

Your referring to 1 of 3 boats painted in memory of the original k-69. There was a Revenge for competition (the boat in the above pic), an ss named Stars and stripes and the Hondo for the Kilos. I would guess your referring to the Hondo.

I knew Phil was in charge as he approched me last year to do this and wanted me to round up as many "LEGAL" ( blown & injected) boats who I thought would travel to Burley and put on a exhibition and who had nice looking equipment......you know the type, boats that you don't need a tetanus shot to climb in :eek:. Besides I think most of the river guys would enjoy it and it would be great for Burley. I've asked Phil several times but have gotten no answer and time is running out for some of us to try and plan and also buy the necessary equipment to run. It's my understandng that Gene sold it all. The boat, the pad, everything. Word on Colorado River Road is that he got 885K for that double lot next to the park. Moved to closer health care for his wife.

well you will have to do better than that to leave a mark and its great to hear that you are legal so there wont be any reason to not step up to play.and for us that have been and seen what money and big motors had done to the class remember the class was dead till john hart and ihba brought it back to life.tony helped prove my point on the small vs big inch motor look at the basket of dead parts on the big motor,unlimited is a thing of the past .as for my program nobody has done or tryed to do this in a k and in 6 heats its ready for next seasons real run for the top.well see next season who has the wind to drive three laps or just sit in a chair and play with his fingers.merry christmas and bring it on in may at ihba, jh
