I'm selling my SU sand car so I can start building a new one. This car is the last "beam" car made by Suspensions Unlimited. It's a long travel car nonetheless. The rear end has 16 inches of travel with four Fox shocks in the rear. The front is 12 inches with two resovour Fox's. The front may be a beam but it handles better the many A-Arm cars. The rear end is absolutely phenominal. You won't beleive how amazing the rear end handles. The car was originally built for a 500lb. man so when I bought it and lightened up the shock pressures, it made the car insane. It's only a two seater but it's very, very fast. All my buddies have SU turbo cars and this car does not get lost in the shuffle, no lies.
I just rebuilt my 2276 VW engine, spending $2000 last season. The internals of this motor are the absolute best. I'm reluctant to sell the motor with the car as I'm afraid of not getting my money out of it. But I'll consider leaving it in the car. It's running some slight compression and is a really, really strong engine. I have a brand new 2085 with some good parts in it that I'm willing to sell with the car instead of 2276 big dog. The transmission was just rebuilt by Mike Tafoya at Rancho Transaxles.
Please call me at 714-612-1104 or email me at richard@wilshirecommerce.com if you're interested.
I paid $13,500 two years ago for this car and it was worth it. I've upgraded the engine and I'm willing to let it go with the 2276 for $12,000. I'm willing to discuss selling it without an engine at all or with my 2085.
