Didn't Sprint just buy Nextel? Nextel works in certain parts, but not everywhere out there.

Sprint just bought Nextel, which I have had for the last 5 years. When I heard the news, I thought it would be great if I could get reception on the River,
and finally get reception in Glamis.
Does Sprint work in Glamis?

Verizon does not work in Parker....
My Verizon works on most places here in Parker, with only a few dead spots in canyon areas along the River.
If you have a Verizon Phone, hit *228 and select option 2. This will update the roaming capabilities of the phone to allow it to access other cell systems.
Verizon recommends that you do this once a month or so, as they are always adding new features and capabilities.
They also recommend that if you have an older single or dual mode (Analog & Digital) phone, that you upgrade to a tri mode (Analog, Digital, PCS) to increase your coverage area.
But I've found that if you just do the *228, you'll greatly expand your coverage. (Remember, this is for Verizon service only)
