Yeah, you pay, different prices at different times and directions.

Yah but no plate no pay
That is cheating
so from Chino to Irvine its 6 bucks

Kilr, if you get on the 241 from the 91 fwy, you'll pay 2.50 or 2.75 at the Windy Ridge toll booth, and then if you stay on the 241 you'll pay another 2.00 at the Tomato Springs toll booth...

Depends on where in Irvine and when.
If you go from 241 to 133 can be more.
Prices change depending on time and direction.
Sometimes no one in booth, so must have exact change (machine).
I knew someone that ran a dealer pie plate for a year. No Pay!

You guys have to pay to drive on freeways that your tax money built? Nice state you have there.... Sure glad I moved away from the People's Republic of California!

I never run plates on anything I drive, but I still wouldn't try to run a toll without paying. I have a Fast Track and use it on all the different toll roads. I got pulled over about two months ago on the 241 because the cop sitting on the side of the road under the toll reader couldn't see high enough to see may transponder.

From what I understand, these roads were built with money from corporations, not tax payer money. That's why there is a fee.

Yes, comrad!
In our state...all citizens are equal (but we are allowed different gel jobs).
:D
PS- I paid $7 tonight in the slowtrak lane (averaged about 30MPH)...

The 241/261 is a privately funded and owned toll road.
The 91 Express Way was privately built but sold to OCTA (Orange County Transit Authority) last year. I just paid $7.00 for the priviledge tonight :angry2:
Hey Photoglou - Got any spare Power Chevrolet plates? ;) (I got an F350 but nobody will care :D )

I'm not normally one to encourage increased government control and involvement, but things like roads just should be public domain in my book. This whole private toll road concept just doesn't work for me. Glad it's not happening here!

Coming from the 71... to the 91...... then getting on the 241 I pay 1.75 at the first one and 2.50 at the next one. Then I get off before I have to pay again. It is well worth it though. Saves a crapload of time. :shift:

I know of a few members of HB that have worked at the TCA (Transportation Cooridor Agencies)
No Plate No Pay????????? LOL
That's why the TCA rents YES RENTS Cops and pays CHP overtime hours for them to inforce no plates and no transponder. BIG TICKET!
I've sat in negotiations with people who owe thousands and thousands in fees/fines etc. Lots of Step-parents who co-signed with kids on car registration.
If you don't pay the violation, the fines go up, if you don't pay, the debt gets sent and held at DMV about a year later on your registration, if you get past that, they will send the debt to the franchise tax board who will get the $$$ for sure.
When the roads are paid off in around 2020 I think, they will be FREE :D

Well, actually I have 4 horses in the backyard.
Also, there are 4 toll roads in OC, the 241, 261, 133, and the 73. Also the 91, but that is transponder only, no cash or toll booths. Toll varies depending on where you get on/off and time of day. I think the website is thetollroads.com
that will give specific info on tolls aty different times and places.

Non-recourse toll revenue bonds, not corporations.

No tax money was used in the design or construction of the OC Toll Roads and they are not private. A JPA was created through state legislation. The 91 however is a different animal and was private until OCTA bought out the franchise.
