I am waiting for the introduction too. I've been hanging on to my 2000 for an extra year just waiting. It is my understanding that it was going to be the first of this year...now its scheduled for mid year. Its really anyones guess. All I know is I am patiently waiting...and patience is not one of my strong points..... Nobody will say when they will be officially be available cuz no one will want the previous models....
I like the yellow and it would be nice to have matching colors on the new sled....

I'm sure they'll be many changes from the concept, but the interior pics are bad ass too. The doors on the concept are suicide too.....luv em :supp:

If it were to look like the concept truck it would be the first vehicle that I would just buy and drive without modifing all sorts of stupid stuff. Bad ass is exactly right.....I wrote Ford a few minutes ago and I will post any response I get. Wife walked by when the pictures were up and said she wants one too...oh boy....just bought her a new Aramada 4 months ago.... :hammerhea I dont know if I need to trade the Aramada in or her?!?!?! :)

I don't think it looks like a tonka truck
to be tonka it would need tiers twice that size and a 12" lift

NashvilleBound

I am sure someone in Beaumont will put a 12inch Superlift (tank ride) with true wire baskets and low profile tires.....thats always a good look.

Only in Beaumont would someone wreck it! LOL........truck as is, is fine with me. I can't imagine adding anything to it. I'll take it in black though!

you guys need to look closer the truck as it is looks to be un drivable
there is no tire clearance at all looks like you couldn't even tern a corner without the front tires rubbing like hell and if you put a lode in it the back would hit the fenders

I am hoping they will catch up with the newer technology and do a 4 link air ride like the city buses. Be nice to be able to ride high for clearance or lower for towing and getting passengers/cargo in and out.

the video from when it was introduced several years ago. showed it driving out on stage.. and when they turned it off it dropped down so u could get out comfortably.. and when it started it raised back up...

Two ?'s
1) Did he say when they're coming
2) Is the MSRP or does that include their fricken15k markup?

Yes, he used the concept truck in one of his videos. Supposedly was not allowed to drive it faster than 10 MPH.

That's INSANE for a GD truck!

That's got to be including dealer mark up............no way are they selling that for 68k. They may get away with selling it at 50-55k, but no way 68k. :supp:

Ford has no plans to build the Mighty Tonka concept exactly as it was shown at the auto shows. However, it did influence the front end and color of the 2005 Super Duty Amarillo. These trucks are limited edition and should be available now at certain dealers in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Here's a pic:

That's a nice rig.................but that's no TONKA. I see a lil of it in the grill and the yeller, but that's about it. I'm gonna call Galpin and find out if these things are coming out or not.

Sales guy I talked to today.........acted like I was crazy. He knew nothing about it, infact made a joke and said maybe I should check with Toys' R Us. I asked him for a manager, and left a message. We'll see if I get a call back.

Just bringing back this post because ford said they are re-designing the f-250 and 350 for the 2007 model year. They will use the cab forward design and many other features from the Tonka Concept. Will it be like the Tonka......not sure, but they are def going to get close to it. :supp:
