Does anyone own a 1970 to 80 model 23ft. or 26 ft sleekcraft or Spectra daycruiser that might be willing to pass on a little info about them----what size, and how many blades prop are you running? what gears?-----I picked one up a month ago and haven't got it in the water yet----It's got a velvet drive? (Borg Warner) trans in it, think its 1:1, but not sure, haven't pulled the floor cover to see what brand of V-Drive it has-----It's got a BBC for power----the motor was hopped up a little (by previous owner) 280 hyd. cam, roller rockers, supposedly 10.5:1 slugs, (meaning premium gas and or av gas) steel crank and rods----not looking for big speed, but no dog either----just a cruiser to ride and drink beer in that will give me a decent run and not kill the motor----this is my first large boat and looking forward to using it alot----thanks

Which boat did you pick up, Spectra or Sleek Craft?
The biggest v-drive Spectra made was a 24 feet, I think Sleek Craft made a 26 footer as a v-drive.

the boat I picked up is a 26 ft sleekcraft----would post picture if I could figure out how----there is a picture of it on the boat pictures thread-----someone helped posting a picture of it----after looking at some pictures of some old brochures, it has interior like the 23 ft has-----just a motor cover with transom seats on both sides instead of the large hatch cover that goes from side to side----I have a brother-in-law in Houston that has a spectra like the picture you posted---it has green and white paint with the simulated wood strip on the deck riser (both gel coat and interior is original 70 something model)---it had a LS-6 in it orginally, but he pulled it and put in a crate 502---the guy I bought mine from maintained that the motor he put in it cavitated the prop quite a bit----(guess I could have the prop checked out) there are supposed to be some decent shops in Houston, and see what they say----was just wondering what size props other folks run and the pros and cons about 3 blade vs 4 and other such stuff----thanks, and merry christmas to all
