Dave,
I would contact Crane. They had a lifter that was called a Race Hydrolic. That MoFo was and is the best lifter on the market. Instead of a piece of wire in it it has a C clip and the tolerances are much closer.

i also found these on Lunatis web site, they also have a snap ring and sound like a step above those others. lunati has a wide selection of lifters, i cant find jack sheet from crane or comp.

I use Rhoads anti pumpup. Never had one fail.Their finish looks superior next to comp cams.

I agree. In my opinion Rhoads are the best hydraulic lifters on the market.Although I run a mechanical roller in my 514.

Rhoads lifters were used in just about everything for years. Most of the aftermarket brands are just Rhoads in a different box. The insides of a hyd lifter is the most precision piece in any engine, having tolorances in the .0001/,0003 range. Ask the cam guys where they get their lifters, only a handful actually take an active part in lifter production.......MP

Rhoads no doubt are great but they are a bleed down lifter to use with a big cam on the street to maintain manifold vacuum and they have a lifter clatter at idle, Crane has the the exact same thing!. There's only a couple of lifter MFG's that make good lifters and the cam MFG's buy from them!. If you want a good lifter regardless of what type of motor, just don't buy the cheap shit in a white box!..

I`m now running Rhodes. They do make noise. I run ISKY anti pump in my small block Chevy`s.
