Just drove bye it coming back from Riverside and its only about 2 ft tall, Black and no branches, maybe 3 shoes and none around it anymore. It left a sad feeling about the state of the world that someone had to destroy a simple tree that wasn't hurting anything. I would have taken a pic but someone stole my digital camera  What next , rake the rock names along the tracks?

It was a tree on Rice Road that peeps going to and from the river would leave old shoes hanging on the branches. Someone burned it down a few months ago.

A tree out in the middle on nowhere on the way to the river that people would stop and hang shoes on. Got to be kind of a tradition until some jerk lit it on fire.

The demise began a year ago with the first burning. I can just picture in my mind some thoughtless Dipsh&ts that did this for a thrill. I imagine they were not born when this first became a shoetree.
I recall the first time I spotted it was about 1978 on the way to Parker.
Just like a tagger, mindless. Perhaps we could build gallows on this site and utilize it if the firebug is idetified?
